Memorial Stadium, Boxing Day 2016. We lost 1-4 in what was not only the worst Coventry City performance I've ever seen, but also the worst performance I've ever seen from a professional football team. It was Russell Slade's first game as manager, and it was plainly obvious he wasn't going to last long.

It was, however, the day I heard my favourite heckle from a football fan to someone on the pitch. We went 0-2 down, and one of the coaching staff leapt from the bench, left the field and came back on with a folder of papers. The guy next to me yelled "DOES IT SAY "TUDGAY'S SHIT" IN THAT FOLDER" and even the coach laughed

I feel like I remember this too but the game I'm thinking of was circa 2002-2004? Clayton Ince was in goal for them and had what must have been the game of his life, then he signed for us as a backup keeper a couple of years later

That cup game triggered perhaps the most disastrous loss of form I’ve seen, even by CCFC standards. I think we went on to only win a single league game and from playoff contenders to barely above the bottom 3.

MK Dons away stood out as weird little moments in our time floating around being quietly sh*t. Two seasons in a row of outnumbering home fans with one being the Chris McGuire game. Both were pretty sh*t games.

and Notts County away. Persuaded my mate to go to his first away game. "We're flying, Clarke and Wilson can't stop scoring!" then by the time the game rolls round, Clarke's gone and Wilson's crocked. Pitch was like a ploughed field. Awful game. Delfouneso looked hungover. Grealish looked like a Love Island reject. Such a grim one.

Massively disagree. Hyam’s turnaround from that performance (where I couldn’t see a future for him in professional football) to two good performances for the suspended Tom Davies at Notts County and Wembley - and becoming the cornerstone of the championship defence before a move to Blackburn ( to quickly balance the books when the ground was closed) and a full international cap was pretty impressive in my book. He’s a very good professional footballer and would walk back into our starting XI.

I still chuckle every time that memory comes back to me. It happened right in front of the North Stand, and if I remember correctly, it was actually Sheffield Wednesday and Drissa Diallo who face-planted.

Although our best moment 2001-2018 was probably beating Manchester United in front of 11500 away fans..... reminding a few people that we were still around...... spanking Blackburn 4-1 away in the Cup was not far off either.
