Agree think most on here are NORMAL ebough to hate all peados and rapists

Must say as a british Sikh i am happy most are good guys on here but if i was muslim i wonder how i would feel reading this dumb shit from dumb pricks. Wonder if it would make me hate fellow cov fans eventually aa i didnt feel united as fans. Not sure.

Still just gotta remember it's fear and stupidity.

As i always say just be good people!

And covcity4life is always right.....
Have to say, I've never met a bad Sikh. I've been inside a couple of temples and they were so welcoming! Great food at a wedding of a mate once! Oh, and I LOVE Bhangra!

I mentioned in a post earlier that I am atheist but feel "cheated" in some way, that I don't have a God or similar to turn to if I needed. I think what I've seen of the Sikh community, I would probably choose this as a belief. It always seems such a happy and friendly religion.

Lmao what??? Yes sikh and muslim community tensions have forever been high

But its the people that have problems with each other not the actual religions. Like i said if you practice it then no sikh could hate any other religion. Hate is wrong quite simply

I agree with all the positives things written on here about Sikhs.
But the fact some of them have a hatred for another community isn't something to be proud of.

As with everything, there are good people in a religion, there are bad people.

There are good atheists, bad atheists.

Religion is the excuse, not the cause.

lol religion causes almost every war in the world. relgion is bullshit. no one disagrees there bad in all colours etc... but when people are scared to talk about certain issues due to colour that is bad

When people use colour as an excuse, that's even worse and is just a little bit racist.

It's ideologies that cause wars. People often jump on and use religion as they have the structures and systems already in place to communicate a message to a body of people, but the Soviet Union didn't need religion to end up a totalitarian controlling state, and nor did a number of rather more obvious examples.

What they did have was driven individuals, who wanted to use a political (small p) machine for their own ends.

Does it? Where’s your proof? Just because the people who commit to war have faith it doesn’t mean it’s about faith. Was the Falkland war about religion? No. Was the Vietnam war about religion? No. Was either of the Iraq wars about religion? No. Was the Korean War about religion? No. Was WW1 about religion? No. Was WW2 about religion? No. You could say that the Iran/Iraq war was about religion because they’re of opposing factions of the same religion but you could also argue it was tribal. You could argue that the Afghan war was about about religion but you could argue that it was a result of leftovers from the Russia/Afghan war and an ideology triggered by allied forces setting of from Saudi Arabia in gulf war one which definitely wasn’t about religion. So please explain why religion causes most wars when if you look at conflicts of the last 100 years that clearly isn’t the case. It’s a lazy statement to make that’s right up there with all black men are drug dealers.

even a lot of so called religious wars haven't actually been about religion, they've been about accumulating land and resources. Religion has been a convenient dressing for the real motivation.

Many sikhs fall for that. I am not so sure he is sincere and merely using the community as allys

The thing is with Tommy Robinson and his ilk is there’s always got to be someone else to blame and when you’re a hate filled knob such as he is if we rid the country of all Muslims he’d simply move onto another minority group. Any minority group are his next target in waiting.

The two things I really “miss” about religion despite being a lifelong atheist, are communal singing which I get from CCFC and believe is great for the soul, and the general instant community.

For a brief period workplaces did a similar job. I was at GPT/Marconi towards the end and got a taste of that but most of it like you saw at Cadbury’s and the like is well before my time.

We need a mass social network in real life for atheists. Football is the closest thing there is left and even that’s being chopped up, commercialised, sanitised and individualised.

You should just turn up at school assemblies and join in.

I’m not going to lie. Singing in assemblies was one of my favourite things about being a teacher. I was that over enthusiastic cringe teacher.

That is so right!! Have you seen the atheist church network?

I’d love that atheist church. Though the fact that article is 6 years old and I still haven’t heard of one suggests they didn’t do too well.

To be honest I respect Pete and his belief. I think that its a fairly brave stance to express the beliefs and faith he has on this forum which is clearly in the vast majority not going to agree with the stance. I think the Wizard in the Sky drivel is disrespectful - he believes what he believes and that clearly then creates a moral stance on certain issues that a lot find bewildering. I don't tend to ridicule people who have faith as I actually admire it

What happens at an atheist church?

You’d be more than welcome at our church Houch without faith. Also at our book club in the open arms and doubting group again at the open arms
Sounds like my kind of religion! So, where's the next meeting? The Open Arms, you say? Is that the one on Daventry Rd? If so, can you get me a pint of Guinness in with a Jameson chaser and I'll see ya later on!

I think Frankie Boyle talks about atheists especially celebrity atheists very accurately

Although you don’t need to be a celebrity to fall foul of religiously being down on religion.

We respect people's choice to believe what they want but we don't have to respect the belief. Religion makes absurd claims and is of course up for ridicule, satire and debate. Nobody has the right not to be offended. I think religion demeans humanity and find its claims offensive. So what, I'm offended!

It's a dangerous road to go down when ridiculous ideas can't be ridiculed for fear of upsetting someone. David Icke's ideas are rightfully laughed at but I'm sure he has followers who demand respect. Where do you draw the line? Religion always wants to be a special case but doesn't deserve it. I never name call people on this forum but will certainly pull holes in their ideas if I think they are up for question.
