Unpleasant for the player, but it was not a stamp - that suggests increased force - yes he trod on him, but eyes were looking elsewhere (significant or not I don't know, but if he had been looking down then I think it would have been more incriminating)> Only the player knows if it were deliberate or not - I think the replay is inconclusive re: intent

I don’t think it was as bad as all that but I thought he did look down in order to make sure he stood/stamped on him.

I don't believe it was deliberate anyway.
I don't believe he looked where his foot or Duffy's leg was, purely turned and promptly getting back in position.
Mind from the footage we're never going to know where his eyes are focused, but his head is up looking directly ahead .

Have we had official confirmation that County are contesting it? I would if I were them as it adds confusion to our game plan and is an extra thing for Robins to think about this week.

I've just seen it and it is definitely deliberate.

He steps on him rather than stamps on him, but in my opinion there is definite intent.

I think along with lashing out at Forte he'll cop a ban for this

It would have been unbelievably clumsy to have done this accidentally, it would be another level of clumsy to do this accidentally and not immediately apologise or help Duffy up, knowing how it could have looked. The fact he has been sly and doesn't appear to look too much in the direction of Duffy during the incident just *might* save him from retrospective punishment as it would be hard to 'prove' the intent.

I am just saying it wasn't a stamp, you numpty!

I didn't see it on the night and Grendel was saying it was a stamp. Well it wasn't.

I was saying it is not as bad as first made out.

Didn't Duffy say it wasn't a deliberate stamp in a post-match interview?

He said he accepted it was an accident.

Can only assume Angry Kevin Nolan has overruled him.

Would be really funny if they got Davies suspended and then Willis came in on Friday and had an absolute stormer.

Nope. Not for me.

Cannot see how you could prove that was deliberate. Say it's sky blue spectacles if you like, but I assure you if it had been switched, I'd still be saying the same thing. I cannot in anyway be persuaded that that was a deliberate stamp. If anything, it looks like he took a look down to try and miss him but such was his hurry to get back, he clumsily stepped on him. If he gets banned for this, then Ameobi should be arrested for assault, because his elbow was CLEARLY deliberate, and 100 times worse.

You would hope ccfc would have that to hand if anything comes of it. There will be plenty more if they went back through the game.

Would certainly show they are no angels.

Also, how does Nolan get away with hammering the ref so much? He went mental last time when they have a pen away too

You can't see any intent, he doesn't even look down. I know what you mean though, you'd reasonably expect somebody to look down to check they weren't going to tread on someone!

Looking on here people can’t agree so how can the panel?

Saying that I think he will get a ban as the football league are total twats

I would assume we didn't report Ameobi at their place.

Bet we wished we did now.

This might seem a crazy idea, but I don’t think I’d play him second leg. County will be doing there best to wind him up, and ref will be looking for anything he does, so he’s got to be a big red card risk. Could have cost us big time if he’d been sent off first half.

It was - he deliberately stood on his leg - by FL definition if they decide this was intentional it’s a ban

How could we? We’d have had to have known about the incident at the time - I assume something emerged later.

Not sure how the panel works but if they need a unanimous vote then I doubt they’ll be successful.

Disagree re Willis/McDonald being suitable replacements for Davies. I’ve seen them get bullied too many times.

Willis is more aggressive, I'd go with him.

McDonald has been far too lax recently, he's had two good runs and two poor runs of games this season. Seems to get complacent.

No not as far as I'm aware just some inches in the Nottingham Post, plus the original furore on Sky which was nearly three days ago.

I agree Willis is the better choice of the two, plus he has pace which is always an asset. However I’m still not as confident with him at CB than Davies when playing against long ball tactics.

Makes no difference. That’s never going to fulfil the requirements - very rarely are incidents successfully reported in non televised games

Doesn't matter if it's televised or not. All games are on camera, clubs will have even more access.

It does due to the way the process is structured - very few cases are looked at unless on live TV

Which process?

If somebody feels something like that has happened they should be just as equal as if somebody like Peter beagrie on sky sports sees it.

I fear the worst
The media has picked up on it
There's usually only one outcome in those circumstances
