Reading paid Mcnulty way more than 4k pw
Pretty sure it was a 10k a week contract. I have good memories of McNulty, we needed to get out of League 2 at the first attempt and largely thanks to his goals, we did. I think his sale also worked out well for us.
That said, if people aren't that fussed about a player who played one season for us in League 2 and then pissed off to Reading, I get it.

Him and Doyle almost single handedly dragged us out of L2, a 28 Goal season is as good as we have ever and are ever likely to see from a CCFC striker and he left cause the club was ran at a time where it sold it's assets at the first flash of a profit

Kudos to him, if he ever comes back for Legends Day he will get a big cheer from me

Like probably everyone on here, being a massive Cov fan all my life I know I could remember every name, with most of them who we signed them from, who we sold them to, what position, where they are playing/coaching now etc. But genuinely I have no idea who Morgan Williams is.

I can't remember Junior Brown or Tennai Watson! Surprised at how few appearances Chris Stokes made, thought he was with us for longer.

There are quite a few decent players on that list who made valuable contributions... can't help but give an involuntary shudder at some of the names though. We have come a hell of a long way.

I don't believe these figues include appearances made before our League 2 season, which is why Stokes numbers appear to be so low.

Me too. According to Wikipedia we bought him off Mickleover Sports for £12k in july 2018 & he made 1 sub appearance in EFL Trophy against Arsenal u21s in September 2018. We loaned him out to Yeovil a couple of times for a month & when his contract ran out in May 2021 he joined them on a permanent. Currently at York City.

I (sadly?!) remember every name on that list.

Aside from a few obvious and popular ones, based on appearances, the few I feel were (and likely always will be) unappreciated by the majority for their contributions:

Hyam
Stokes
Grimmer
Hiwula (ish - when on form he was good)
Thomas (L)
Mason (what happened to him?!))

And controversially; COH - big contributor to the club. Tarred his legacy with that stupid sunglasses promo with SU, but those early years of the “journey” he was significant.

Mason looked exceptional for a while.

Some real legends on that list, fond memories of most of them. O'Hare 3rd most appearances, feel he deserves a little more respect from our support a crucial player in getting us up and keeping us up. He made a bad move I'd imagine he regrets leaving, ultimately his loss our gain getting Rudoni and BTA in
Grateful as I am for his contribution, especially after promotion, with O'Hare it was how he left and how he acted, the rumours of a dressing room row after he was subbed (WBA?) and word until late on that he was still considering staying. Plus the "learning Spanish for his big foreign move" only to end up at the rancid Sheff Utd. Not exactly graceful. I have very fond memories of a goal against them last season where Tatsu gives him a yard head start but still beat him to the ball by a yard. Also, do they not have running water in Yorkshire yet? He doesn't look like he's bathed since he left!

Hyam definitely isn’t under appreciated. The feeling at him being sold at the time was not good.

Mason didn’t close the blues winger down in the cup replay, last seconds of the game and his cross goes in. Don’t think we ever saw him after that. Also never played at that level since. Still only 28.

There were rumours abound that Concrete Rod was on the booze a lot which is why he was dropped.

Hyam only really got a place towards the end of that season, he just never let it go once he did.

I thought it was more about him not being able to offer much as an attacking fullback?

Only 28? Blimey. Funny how it goes sometimes isn’t it.

Cheers - I don’t remember him playing much in the first season back in league one. That being said - that season is a bit hazy I general. Remember us losing 2-1 to Scunthorpe first game but the rest is a blur.

that was the Chaplin and Luke Thomas season wasn’t it?

He left in January of that season, there were rumours at the time that him and MR had a bit of a falling out

I actually thought we eventually turned into a very decent side that season, The attacking unit of Thomas, Enobakhare, Hiwula and Bakayoko started scoring a fair few goals, albeit was a bit too little too late to make a go at the play-offs
