18k, with the view to add as necessary just like swanseas. To be fair as much as we like to big up our fan base we're not likely to average anymore than 13-14k on a promotion charge in league one or 15-16k treading water in the championship.

We already know city fans will turn up for the one off games.

Tell me how it's not quite? Because you didn't actually say SISU? Who were you referring to if it wasn't the owners?

So SISU have spoken to CCC about planning permission within Coventry?

No they haven't, in fact CCC have said it is not possible for a stadium to be inside the city boundary. However the three sites I used as an example earlier are hardly miles away in the middle of nowhere.

ccfc92 said:
That's all we are asking for! Just show us what plan the new stadium is, and would benefit CCFC, and you'll have 95% backing instead of 5%!

But that isn't what is being said. There are many people on here writing off a new stadium before we've even seen any details.

Not getting your point? Are you suggesting we'd get massive attendances if we were challenging for promotion from league 1?

You can't have it both ways.

You can't build a stadium with a view to compete in leagues 1 and 2, and then expect to compete with said stadium in championship/ Fa Cup etc.

I'd say so.

You're telling me if we needed a win at home to win the league title you could pay on the gate?

I'm saying that if we were in the PL we'd potentially be getting twice as many at the Ricoh. Alot is made of other income streams but lets not kid ourselves ticket revenue is King for putting money in the bank.

To be fair, it's not. TV revenue is.

Depends on the configuration and how the expansion was done. If you have something similar o Fulham you just take it back down again. If it's a permanent additional tier you mothball it. If its like the expansion at Brighton you close of sections to reduce costs.

No I'm not telling you that, I said we know city fans turn up for the one off game and you have given me an example of a one off game. Congratulations!

Week in, week out we probably wouldn't even break 15k whilst challenging for promotion.

If we were in the PL we'd have the money to put an additional tier on and double the capacity. Also, ticket money would most certainly not be the revenue king.

We might as well built it bigger in the first place. It would probably be cheaper than building smaller and expanding anyway.

Who begged to leave HR?! It's a silly comment. Mainly because it's a throwaway remark trying to firm up your own opinion.

It will put more money in the bank than anything else other than the TV money.

Maybe, maybe not. But 15K per week is more appealing than fucking Crawley etc with their 3,000 per week.

You get regular good football at the Ricoh this season, with TM signing, and you would see 15K+ up there.

If we are in top 6 around Feb time, i'd say we'd be getting close to 20K.

The fans just need some belief in the club.

There were many who thought leaving HR was for the best.

Would you leave a house you own, to rent a house?

There's certainly an arguement to be made for that. Would depend on how the cost of expansion compares with the cost of building larger initially. Of course if Fisher came out and said he was planning a 30K stadium everyone would say we didn't need it and he was mad.

So not the king of revenue then.

I think there is a deal to be done at the Ricoh. I accept Rugger and footy will be played there and will need to run side by side but joint development around the site and low peppercorn rent combined with a share of revenue 365 days would be a very good deal, perhaps even buying into ACL. This saga has a long way to go but the rugby club need the football club there to remain sustainable themselves. CCFC will grow and if we hit the premier league again then we will be in a strong position. Do wasp really want to see this ship sail? I think not.

How the hell have Crawley been dragged into this.

18k is ok for L1/championship, make it expandable should we ever be established in the top flight.

Because Crawley (or any little club in this league) get on a run, then they'll probably sell out their poxy ground.

We go on a good run, we get an average of 15k+ all the way up to 32,000.

But the slightest bit of hope, and you can't get tickets for a game. Something the likes of some of these clubs in this league could only dream of.

And the games leading up to this one important game?

Regularly winning at home, and sitting in the top 6?

You're telling me there will be 8,000 going regularly?

"There were many"... That doesn't really say much. We didn't own HR. Richardson sold that in 97 or 98, when there was a chance to expand and renovate it. I think most, before HR was sold up, would probably have wanted that. However, we were never given that choice. So are we not just on about people moving on because we had to? This is getting way off topic. In fact, I'm out from now, just wanted to see how the poll goes!

I stand by that, until the last 2-3 games of the season when the bandwagon jumpers would start to attend.
