Not having a ticket sent out is pretty standard now, but when nearly everyone has smartphones it's weird to insist that anyone print it out, may as well offer a fax option.

I noticed that earlier on the spurs site that they have a resale bit.

Reselling football tickets is illegal but there is a loophole that allows you to do it with the clubs permission so all the big clubs have signed deals with resellers.

Should be stopped for everything not just football.

I have no problem paying a booking fee, after all it's the service your paying for so
thats fair enough. What i did have a problem with was struggling to get a ticket in
a stadium with 18.000 empty seats.

This is the crucial bit for us. Having a match package has been a pain this season. If we can redeem a voucher and print online we shall have a package next season. If they don't sort this out we will not be buying.

Well, I do have a problem with booking fees for tickets for any event. The ticket price should include everything to do with the event including having to provide the ticketing system. The only extra that is acceptable would be postage, although online printing should be able to prevent this.

The last few times I have flown, the boarding pass associated with the flight has been downloaded to my phone and scanned before boarding, and at no extra cost. Why can't this happen?

It can if you print it at home I'd guess.

Or they just put the ticket price up rather than separate booking fees, but then that means you pay it whether you print at home or not.

Didn't Ticketmaster used to run the phone service a few years ago for CCFC? I seem to remember it was alright?

Remember people last season you actually got a discount for buying online, if this continues then adding the booking fee will probably bring it to the same price as buying in person anyway so no extra expense.

Or if you print at home / work then it saves you having to go and queue up to collect for big games!

That would be perfect!

If it's 3.50 though that would be a price hike of 20%. Which is a bit unjust I would say. But 10% for proper professional service would be good

Now for stage 2 - a proper ticket office for the fans who aren't IT savvy etc.... The Butts or that office in an industrial estate in Foleshill are a farce. Most clubs have a ticket office at their ground or at the club shop. I think they have to cut a deal with WASPS and utilise the Ricoh ticket office during non-match days. Don't think the clubshop in the Tesco Arena complex has the space to cope especially if there are queues.

In theory, it would be a piece of piss to open up a terminal in most places as long as they have power / printer / internet.

The Foleshill one doesn't' exit now. That's the one that moved to the Butts.

Apparently the reason it took so long at the shop last year is that the system couldn't book a season ticket after match tickets went on sale so they had to manually assign your seat for every game! Shouldn't be a problem with the new system. Think you'll be able to renew online so you won't need to go anywhere.

Yeah, when the did it the woman was stood for about 5 minutes per season ticket.

The actual transaction took less than a minute, give postcode, name, pick a seat on the screen, say how many, pay...then wait for 5 minutes for the system to process it.

When you go to an event, sports, music or whatever, you buy a ticket which includes everything. That includes the provision of gatemen, security, toilets, sweeping the stadium and so on. So why would you pay extra to buy a ticket because you need a ticket and can't see the event without it?

I don't expect to pay separately for anything else, such as tipping the gateman for clicking the turnstile. So why should I pay extra to buy the essential ticket? It makes no sense whatsoever. The club have done ticketing on the cheap and it doesn't work. So ok, it will cost a few extra pence within every ticket to have a system that is fit for purpose. They need to sort it if they are a serious business in the leisure sector.

Erm, most events now have a booking fee. There will be the cost to post it, print it etc.

The other option is thet just merge the booking fee into the ticket price. Then like I said it means people printing at home then have to pay more for the ticket. I think it would be better to give people the option whether to have to pay a booking fee or not and give them alternatives to get round it.

A lot of serious businesses in the leisure sector already use ticketmaster and other alternatives which all charge booking fees. It is how Ticket Master make the money.

You're making it sound like we're the only people who charge a booking fee, not that its even been confirmed we will. There's not many events above the backroom of a pub level that don't have booking fees. Theatre, cinema, sports even train tickets have a booking fee.

I have been quite satisfied with the online system currently in practise............... check availability, select seats, pay by card, 90p postage, always turned up in plenty of time for the match, voila !

Super smart move from CCFC,Ticketmaster will not doubt promote our tickets via banner ads, to people browsing in the Cov and Warks areas for other events. We will get a decent service and the club should sell more and have happier shoppers.
