When you absolutely, positively have to finish a chance from two yards out, accept no substitutes.

Can’t remember a fringe player hitting a run of form like this, I’m absolutely delighted for him. He oozes charisma as well.

I’ve loved his character and work rate from the start. I personally didn’t think he had it in him to show a little calm / composure when needed, but somehow he has found a way so far!

Running out of words for him .. player of the season so far really .. workrate is incredible
Yup got the work rate to match. He seems so much more decisive this year
It's like Frank's said dont Think (dilly dally) with the ball. F,inn hit it! Or pass.

He has been given a free role and was everywhere last night - including chasing back - add Rudoni to the pot and opposing teams dont know where to

Awesome player, terrific bloke. Even most opponents seem to like him! Did anyone spot him cheekily loosening their keeper's glove just before a corner last night... made me laugh anyway, it was the sort of thing kids do when they're messing about. He clearly just loves playing.

And what an engine and a hunger for the game. Still at it after 97 minutes last night! BTA is very much on the way to legend status.

What a time to be a City fan. 😁

Back to back 90s after being on international break is an amazing effort.

The way Franks rotated it would seem it's his turn to sit out next but you can't drop a man in this kind of form?!

I still want to know whats wrong with his hand and how he infected Wright with the same
Its to get away with taking performance enhancing drugs under the guise of a sprained wrist.

I joke of course, I think it is a preventative measure to protect against sprains. Although I think Yamal just does it because he thinks it looks cool

The BTA of last season doesn’t score that second goal. Always had a nice strike on him plus immense work rate. But now starting to show composure and decent decision making. He’s someone reaching for another level. He totally epitomises our team right now. I wonder how far he can go?

You can tell his confidence is absolutely soaring. There is no way the BTA of last season scores that 1-on-1 or even attempts that shot that hit the crossbar.

Long may it continue.
In fairness, both BTA and Simms stepped up and won us games during our Jan-Feb form. The posters arguing we needed to sign a striker massively overlooked this.

In all seriousness, BTA and Simms would start for most Championship teams. I got a decent amount pushback for saying this in preseason too.

Always rated him. Found it odd when people were saying he had no technique.
Fantastic guy to have in the squad. He always had the technique, but his decision making was often poor. Holding the ball too long, playing the wrong pass etc. Now the team is on a roll, I would imagine they are all bringing the best out of each other by making themselves available, calling for the right ball etc.

He still goes it alone a bit too often mind you!

So, from 'We should sell all the strikers and start again' in the summer, to we now have the best strikers in the division.
Hmm... maybe people on this site (myself included) know very much less than they would like to think?

Football fans are too easily governed by their immediate emotions.A player has a bad game = bad player and vice versa.

We know v little about the things going on behind doors like players carrying injuries and so on.

You had several posters saying Haji ‘can’t play in Lampard’s system’ and that we needed ‘a lump’ up front because of all the headers scored.

All what was needed was for FL and his team to have a preseason with players and get to get fitter and back to full health.

No worse than that. Rushworth shit, JDS shit, all the strikers shit, Tatsu can't play away, Torp slow and can only play 60mins, Thomas can't pass.
Eccles, Allen need to get rid.
The only player who has so far (and I do mean so far) who has not lived up to expectations is Brau.

A little surprised that we haven't seen a bit more of Brau but we don't see what FL and his staff see.
I always felt that brau was bought in as one for the future, especially with already having JDS and Bidwell i didnt see him as coming straight in. I may have completely made that story up in my mind but im sure thats how he was touted/thought of.

I'm not sure who expected Brau to be an instant hit. We signed him on a free from a 2nd division Spanish team who finished 7th.
I think some of that is from the rumour that we'd agreed to sign him, regardless of whether we were Championship or PL, so I think people expected him to be at a very high level technically, even if he would need time to settle in.

Maybe we'll see that in due course as he does settle in, but I think a number of people have been at bit surprised at his positional naivety thus far.

Yeah the assumption was he’d come in for Dasilva and we’d let Bidwell go. The fact he can’t get on the pitch isn’t great when we need to be able to sub off our fullbacks and Bidwell has looked well past it.

We’ve got a tiny squad and don’t really have room for random third choice gambles so it’s a strange one

He's looked OK to me. Has pace and technique, and was fully involved with those 1-2's we are so good at with EMC, Rudoni, Dasilva, Torp etc. Obviously work to be done if he's going to play LB with positioning etc, but that will come.

I was one of Asantes biggest critics, thinking he couldn't control the ball and he kept losing it but wow has he got his confidence back, he is absolutely flying and fair play to the lad, he looks as though he knows he is part of the team now whereas before he never looked as confident..as someone said before it shows how much we actually know about football

Loved his goal on Saturday he scores so many goals so close to the target

Hope so. We’ll need a backup LB this season.

We played him as a lone striker when Wright was injured. Now his roles have given him freedom in and around the box. He isn't expected to beat players before getting a shooting chance now and has become a much better player. I still wouldn't want to see him leading the attack like before.
