Sat in a well known opticians whose name begins with "S" yesterday waiting to be seen.A older gentleman pulled up outside on a mobiilty scooter He struggled to make his way to the counter on getting there he asked for olive oil for ears.Got out his money to pay only to be told he needed a card.Out he went without said olive oil. I do hope he managed to purchase it at the shop next door where he would have got it cheaper and they do take cash.Comes to something when cash of the realm cannot buy what you want.

Any shop that doesn’t take either cash or card in this day and age deserves to lose customers, just take both that way everyone is happy

Agreed, but at the same time who doesn't have a card nowadays? They are so easy to get.
This is the thing. How many people are trying to pay cash in Specsavers. Do you really want all the hassle of training staff in how to do the daily banking, and having someone have to actually do it, when you probably go days or even weeks without anyone paying in cash.

We have fallen so far since the days when anyone with a Saturday job in the market was expected to take cash, get the change right and all in £sd. 😂

Bugger. If I can’t pay my builder in cash he will charge me VAT and have to declare everything to HMRC.
What’s the world coming to when they crush the black market.

Behaviour of other people on public transport is a well-worn topic in this thread by now, but: People who spread their belongings all over the table on a train. Absolute psychopaths
