Obviously it was awful what happened and I can pretty much understand how his young lad feels at the minute.

If it is helping him and his son deal with things then great.

"Simon Thomas reveals all his son wants for Christmas is his mummy back"
"Simon Thomas shares moment he went back into his bedroom for the first time"
"Simon Thomas' son sleeping in his own room again"

It's just stuff like that. I am all for raising awareness and people talking about things but something about it just seems off and sits a bit differently.

This sounds like my irrational dislike of Malala.

The backs of cupboards.

They should be banned.

We all at some point or another have gone to the back of our cupboards and found a rogue tin of soup, or mushy peas, or a packets of pasta that are several months, if not years out of date.

If they banned backs of cupboards and just had fronts of cupboards everything would work out just fine and we'd all save money.

Sky losing La Liga rights so more cost to get the same levels as sky won’t cut prices when they lose something

Won't be the last. The value of sports rights is dropping, there's even two PL packages sat unsold from the last renewal. As the leagues get annoyed at current broadcasters putting in lower bids they'll go elsewhere. Even when the company they sell them to doesn't have a means of broadcasting them as La Liga have done.

Bank Holidays. You look forward to them cos you've got the day off, only to discover there's actually nothing of any interest going on. Except the pub.
Cheers everyone!

Comedians at the checkout tills. I don’t want to hear your ‘witty’ banter, neither do I want to tell you about my weekend. Scan my shopping, take my cash & give me my change.
That’s it. That’s all you’ve got to do.

People out on bikes on country lines with head phones.

About 5 teenagers side by side going round a blind corner on the wrong side of the road, all with head phones on.

Could easily have wiped out 2 of them if I hadn't just slowed down to let somebody out.

Took the dog to the park this afternoon, when did the memorial become a car park? I don't mean the bits that are actually car parks obviously. There were cars parked the entire run of the park from Coat of Arms Bridge to where the park and ride is.

Also you're not supposed to have BBQs there so if you're choosing to ignore that rule and are stupid enough to have your BBQ in one of the few areas of the park dogs are allowed off lead you shouldn't be too surprised at the outcome. Mine wasn't guilty, I could see what was going to happen so kept him on the lead but it was funny seeing a chap about to explode because a dog had polished off his BBQ.

I always thought it was "BBQ's aren't allowed direct onto the grass"? eg. have a portable BBQ but put it on a coupla bricks or a mini stand?

Err....Earlsdon Festival was on today and there is a funfair at the Memorial Park.

We have only just come back now, having been occupied and entertained for 5 hours or so

Big shock for lots of motorists today.

Traffic wardens were putting tickets on a whole stream of cars alongside the Memorial Park. Must have seen 30-40 tickets at least and they were still working their way up.

Hope they were doing the same along the road by Coombe Abbey. Was bloody lethal yesterday with cars parked at odd angles, people emerging from behind them, and the road narrowing to less than two cars' width at places, all on a 50mph road.

Actually went along, Otis. Met up with a few family members. T'was whilst admiring the Nat 1 rugby trophy in the car park of Millsy's that I noticed Lloyd Mcgrath - Dilligently choosing bedding plants with his missus and I presume, the in laws. Had a brief chat with him and he is still the quietly spoken, almost shy unassuming of characters.
Anyway, he thinks we will, I voiced doubt and with that I ambled back over to the Oak to share the story.

Good........Was tailbacks yesterday around there to coz lazy bastards were parking both sides of the road. Loads of side roads to park but seems people can't be bothered to walk for less than 5 mins and don't get me started on people parking in disabled/parents with child spaces in supermarkets. Lazy ignorant wankers.

Yeah, saw the trophy too, though no-one was admiring it. Stall was bereft of all members of the public.
