Or overuse words such as ‘I’m stressed’ when you are clearly no where near stressed!

Worse is 'I'm depressed.'

Over exaggerations abound. 'I'm boiling,' 'I'm freezing,' 'I'm starving.'

Not if they are left handed. I am left handed and grew up at a time that dinner ladies would whack me on the back of my hand for holding knifes and forks left handed

F88K OFF YOU AHOLE. :emoji_blush:

Actually I'm left handed & I hold knife & fork the conventional way but spoons in my left, so always try to sit at left end of table or I stand to have elbow bashing contest with person on my left eating soup course, endless fun.

I'm also a lefty.......thing I don't get is these weird right-handed folk who use a spoon in your right hand?

Logic would surely dictate you use the same hand as you do a fork?

I work with people who constantly do this - they have no idea how many hours some do - ok its possibly their choice but there are plenty of drama queens who are just straight Lazy

Mrs Bhurpa is right handed but holds her cutlery in the wrong hands, says she has always done it this way.
However she does eat peas from the back of the fork rather than shovelling them on the front and also leaves the knife and fork pushed together when the plate is empty. So maybe only half a faux pas.

People who start 'following' dead people on social media, I've just read some musician who died lilpeep? Has had 500,000 extra followers since he passed away less than 24 hours ago. What are people expecting them to post!?

I think the further north you go the more likely you would eat with your bare hands and not use cutlery at all I would have thought.

As someone with clinical depression this really pisses me off. Being a bit down isn’t being depressed FFS.

On that topic, I also hate people who say “lol I’m so OCD”. OCD is having voice in your head screaming at you to kill people, not liking your pens lined up FFS.

Why? You have the knife in your dominant hand because that’s where you need the force. Spoons also cut, so should be dominant hand too.

Do you cook them first or just rip the tripe straight out of the dead animal?

Steady on now. I'd say that both OCD and depression are on a spectrum. There's no switch that suddenly flips you from 'low mood' into 'clinical depression', and indeed different doctors might diagnose people with the same symptoms enitrely differently. And there are plenty of people with aspects of OCD that lead perfectly normal lives.

OCD is most definitely not having a voice in your head that's telling you to kill people - that would most likely be some kind of untreated and very severe schizophrenia.

Absolutely, definitely, and completely having to line all of your pens up before leaving the house, despite knowing that it makes no sense, and will make you late for work etc., is more like OCD... imho. Just liking things properly in order is the sign of a tidy mind. Which is why I won't eat my alphabetti until it looks like this...

I went out with a girl who had OCD. She just worried about everything. Never wanted to die or hurt anyone, but would freak out over many things.

I remember waiting at a bus stop with her. She put her bag down while she was waiting and then noticed a used condom in the gutter, albeit 10 feet down the road. She took the bag, threw all the contents away from the bag, no matter what value and then threw the bag away too, again this was expensive, so purse, lipsticks, perfumes, hairbrush, bag, everything.

She just used to check everything over and over again and would always check my fingers for any scratches or cuts or sores before she would hold my hand. It all used to make her quite ill as she thought about anything and everything that could potentially do her harm.

She was quite severe OCD but never wanted to kill herself or anyone else. She just used to get thoroughly depressed with the weight of things on her mind.

Agree with duffer, not sure what nonsense shmmeee is being fed, but OCD is most definitely NOT a voice in your head telling you to harm people.

On the topic, what minor OCD habits does everyone have? Apart from the usual TV volume has to be on an even number, I can never leave my car until the current song has stopped playing.

Unfortunately, going out with an OCD girl had a profound effect on me and I started washing cups and plates that had already been washed up and opening toilet doors with my sleeve etc. Go in any food shop and see a fly and I just turn and walk out. Have been known to use anti bacterial gel too after shaking someone's hand.

She left quite a mark on me and it took me some time to try and get back to normal.

I still use gel all around the house mind, but that's because my missus never washes her hands. I won't eat a single thing she cooks or prepares and just make excues as to why I don't want anything of what she had made. Certainly helps my being a vegetarian. She hates me washing the plates though. I do that however because she washes the plates fine but will then come back later and handle the plates to put away without washing her hands. Doesn't wash her hands after going to the toilet either.

Grrrr to OCD. It buggers up your mind.

Squealing/screaming
I was collecting my boy from school and little girls were running around screaming/squealing and before any of you start, I was fully clothed and doing nothing untoward

Putting 'pre' in front of words like order and book. It's sheer tautology. I was asked in the theatre whether I would like to pre-book my intermission drinks, I said no but could I just book them instead (that's the sort of sad pedant I'm becoming). The girl looked confused so I explained to her that booking was the same as pre-booking only more efficient. She looked at me in what I took to be admiration but it could have been pity. Nevertheless, I got my drinks at half-time. Why do I need to pre-order when I can just order? I even heard someone on telly the other day say she was pre-warned about something. No no no I shouted, you were just WARNED! And don't get me started on pre-prepared and pre-planning.:rage:

When food outlets are more arsed about appeasing the Deliveroo drivers constantly coming in and out the door than they are about the customers who have bothered to leave their office and eat in-store.

When I phone up a call centre and some wretched person is coughing down the phone every 2 minutes, and is also completely devoid of any common sense.
