There’s one a year. You want world leaders to take the bus around the world? What are you even angry about?

How many flights do world leaders take per year?

You know the score, it's hypocritical and ironic.

But if a world leader can reduce carbon emissions by say 200 megatons by spending 50 tons on air travel that’s a net benefit, that’s the entire point.

I’m guessing you’re one of the anti electricity types and don’t actually care about world leaders carbon output though.

How many of these "COP" meetings have there been?

No I'm all for forward thinking to address issues in a practical, cost saving way.

You are/were something to do with the Council aren't you iirc?

No. Nothing to do with the council. My Dad was a councillor about thirty years ago is probably what you’re reaching for.

There’s a COP (Conference of Parties) for a lot of international agreements. This one lead to the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement. The first was 1995 so there’s been 29.

Other COPs have been on non proliferation of nuclear and chemical weapons, pesticides, all sorts. Any international convention on cross border stuff basically. And probably all attended by world leaders who probably flew there. But they don’t have large right wing moneyed interests whining about their outcomes so you don’t see the memes on Facebook.

What I'm "reaching for" is there's always a pit of money, to have meetings about meetings and find new ways of wasting money.

Councils, world leaders and the NHS are experts.

Also, there a global crisis where we need to act now but world leaders can swan around the planet in private jets etc when teams is a thing.

I don’t think these sorts of things that rely on lots of off plan chats and backroom discussions work on Team to be perfectly honest.

There’s not always a pile of money for meetings. I’m really not sure what that means. I’m as anti meeting as the next guy but the meetings you’re on about are kind of the only way to get a formal agreement between parties.

You just seem very angry with not much reason why. First it’s carbon emissions. Then it’s meetings. If I were you I’d probably take a bit of time to cut back some of the social media that’s making you so angry.

I completely agree we should move faster on the climate ideally, but hobbling the mechanisms to do that obviously isn’t the way.

Idk why i can't bold this, but I'm "angry" at all these politicians jetting here there and everywhere and then telling us how we're all a bunch of cunts for going on 1 holiday per year.

It's standard corporate bullshit. Executive lunches to discuss how we can save money whilst spunkimg 100s of pounds in the process. It's a classic "no, we're not the problem, what can we meet and discuss to discover the problem".

The hoods on anoraks.
Walking in the pouring rain to the game and back yesterday, why don't they make hoods which actual stay up and fit your head without either dropping over your eys or falling off your head.

I think this should be the main topic at COP 30.

The fact that Air Ambulance services are still reliant on charitable donations rather than public funding despite being an integral and life saving element of a modern emergency medical / trauma response.

Parents who make social media accounts for their kids playing football and frankly, they are really bad.

There's one who has put his kids name on his shirt and films from in goal like Ben foster but he's terrible.

It's harsh.

Having a good friend in this organisation I asked him this very question - his answer was simply that any Government control would be disasterous ! I think I might agree with him as both thus one and the last one couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery

Air ambulance services tend to be under the control of the Ambulance Trust (or did when I had involvement some years ago), who in turn are “under government control”. Not entirely convinced that core government funding would change that very much, if at all.

I've been told at times I am harsh, but people who wear "Daddy One" or some variation on the back of their replica shirt.

What metrics are being used? Who did the rankings? How widely recognised is this self-awarded accolade?

Up there with people who say their football club is "special", yes, every c**t thinks their club is special...saying your club is special does not make it so.

If you are waiting to pull out of a junction to go right but there's a traffic jam with the traffic going left and people just drive across and stop in front of you rather than just letting the traffic out while they cant go anywhere anyway.

People would rather rush up to red lights as well, instead of just letting you out. There’s no sense or initiative on the roads.

On the flip side, when people pull out of a busy junction and block one of the lanes whilst waiting for a gap in the other lane. When did this become an acceptable course of practice?

It’s long gone on but it’s something I picked up after driving in London. I only do it when it’s overly busy though.

I can't stand it, but there are some good deals around if you're willing to do your research . I've been waiting about 3 months to buy some sit/stand retractable legs for my desk, £100 off today for waiting a bit. That'll do me.
