Depends on the quality of the ‘content’ or more likely just how the voices sound which is all that seems to matter.

I can’t say that I listen to too many (any) football podcasts. Listened to Athletico Mince for a while.
The ones I’ve heard seem really rather dull.

Think it may have reached that point. Especially as the former manager seems to have been spreading lies to head office etc about multiple things and is still influencing things from a different branch.

It's a shame as I generally enjoy both my job and everything else. However, I'm not having them take the piss with both money and "issues" that are not mine or our branche's fault.

That never seems to worry people who make podcasts. I dread to think how much the BBC spends on football-related podcasts that only a handful of people will listen to, and for which the presenters will get paid a small fortune. "My mate the footballer" starring Callum Wilson and Joe Wilkinson. Seriously??
The football top ten podcast with Shearer, Lineker and Micah Richards. Total pointless shit!

Think people would be in for a shock if the BBC released figures for how many people listen to these. There's people making huge money off shit podcasts, there's even podcasts doing arena tours. It's big business.

How do you even make money as a podcaster is it all merch and sponsorships? Linekars company seems to be doing well but I don’t understand the economics of it all.

I was always talking at school and couldn't tell my son of for doing the same when it was on his school report. Even now when I'm out I will talk to anyone, my wife thinks I'm weird as she is totally opposite.

My 1st year report at senior school said I was erratic. At the time I thought it was a very positive comment!

5 celebs can take 5 helicopters on multiple rides within a few miles in Australia, but we have to turn the TV off at the plug.

I just wish there was more taxes we could pay to stop global warming.

Apparently so in Nottinghamshire. Snow has practically melted off my drive already. Elf n safety gone mad. Snowflakes closing the schools in two senses of the word.

I get it if the boilers broken down (don't they ever service them? It generally tends to get chilly around this time of year, every year. Will they be able to heat schools with air source heat pumps?)

We still went to school during the Big Freeze of 1962 - 63. I remember the school milk being frozen in the bottles. We used to walk to school then as we lived near enough, my parents didn't own a car anyway.

I really hope so, it's the only solution I can see to be fair

On a serious note though, as much as people can say it's a conspiracy etc, the "Elite" are literally taking the piss out of us. We're expecting to sack off our one holiday abroad but they can get the private jet out for an hour or so drive.

You can pay as many taxes in the UK as you like, it won’t stop global warming.

You are right about the elite, it really is one rule for one and another for the plebs. Starmer is showing such leadership to the UK with all his jetting around. Doesn’t he know that wfh and Teams/ Zoom are more efficient and effective means if getting business done?

Extravagant outdoor Christmas lighting displays can add £75 on to your electricity bill.

This additional lighting can result in 500 kg more CO2/household

This is 12.5 times more CO2 than using a regular set of 160 bulb fairy lights which produces only 40 kg of CO2/household.

Alternatively, energy efficient LED bulbs use only 5 kg of CO2/household

Managers and Directors who expect you to be the "go between" because they don't have the bottle. If they want to know something, why do they ask others to then go and ask it and get the backlash that comes with it? Why don't they just ask directly?

Nick - this worked very much in my favour years ago. My manager was hopeless technically and only held down his job for historical reasons. My Director wanted confirmation of this so asked my manager a technical question about methane combustion. As soon as he put the phone down he rushed down and sat by my desk. I didn't know what was happening until my manager appeared, saw the Director and made some lame excuse about just popping in to see me. My Director knew full well why he "just popped in" and told me a while later.
A few weeks later my Director made me a senior manager, and I only accepted the position if I could sack my manager. I duly started the job and first thing I did was sack him.
Karma.

Noisy housekeeping at hotels.

I have travelled all day, want to sleep in, and now you have very loud Spanish women shouting to each other at the crack of down and telling the whole world about their kids, weekend plans etc.

SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Seems pretty green. Computing generally is compared to the alternatives.

I saw someone cry about the energy used to produce a ChatGPT image, but it’s still a tenth of the energy used for a human to do it.
