Indeed!

(Spot those of us who get our shopping delivered!)

One of the good things to come out of the pandemic, the discovery that somebody can deliver my shopping so I can get on with other things rather than driving to the supermarket, and I can think in advance what I want rather than either going aimlessly up and down aisles looking for something that's out of stock, or getting distracted by the offers!

(Still prefer to look at certain things before buying them, but the farm shop can do a nice line in fruit, veg, and certain meat!)

I used to do it around 2009/2010 and found that half the time the food was about to go off, they’d do substitutes I didn’t want. Luckily I’m no longer trusted to go by myself so get out of it most of the time.

I hate food shopping so being able to do it with about 5 clicks is ideal.

Nothing worse than people stopping in front of you.

Neighbours with numerous and unnecessarily bright motion-sensor floodlights in their gardens.

I was calling the cat in earlier, and it was like a scene from a prison movie as she cut across the lawn - it triggered three (previously uninstalled) lights that, I imagine, could have easily burnt through my retinas if I had stared at them for more than a second.

Might need a welders mask for any further night forays into that coronal discharge.

Part Two (The Saga Continues):

Said feline was, again, beckoned homeward with the traditional: ‘Pspspspspsps!’ noise, and to my astonishment, she managed to trigger them all (including a new one, on their shed) by merely being in the detection zone of one of the things - they must be synchronised!

Mr Neighbour must have been very busy doing that, today…he’s even put outdoor fairy lights around the whole upper perimeter of the garden, to create a welcoming, lulling effect before the collapsing stars activate. Will machine gun nests be next, I wonder?

Any brighter, and I fully expect the lights to disrupt the Space/Time Continuum and create a temporal vortex where the searing beams meet.

Might need more than a welders mask to brave it again, at this rate; possibly require a biohazard suit and a Geiger counter.

More updates will follow, like it or not.

And now you can’t make a journey anywhere , without getting stuck behind one dawdling along. All because someone was too lazy to walk to the shop.

Mail order firms demanding I leave them a review on a third-party website.

Yes, I ordered a product and it was delivered. What do they expect, a f'ckin medal?

We live 17 miles from Stirling and there is only a local co-op & Tescos (who both charge more than they do in Stirling) in the town where we live. It costs us more to travel to Stirling than the delivery charge so why wouldn't we get it delivered?

Repeat but lazy bastards dropping their kids to school by car. It's not as if they are likely to live much further than a mile away at most.

Walking my daughter in this morning and we passed a couple of kids getting into a car on their driveway in the same uniform so same school. We were a five minute walk away, through a cul de sac, or a ten minute drive to go all round the estate, onto the main road, and back to the other side of the dead end to get to school. Just mental.

It’ll be because the parents have to go straight on to work I reckon.

Yeah, though driving straight to work from school is counter-productive anyway, literally driving into traffic that could be avoided by leaving later.

Maybe they don’t have the luxury of starting work at 9 or working from home

Most primary schools start around 8:40 don’t they? If you’ve not got those luxuries I doubt you’re doing the school run TBH.

Ah for the good old days when ordering something meant “28 days for delivery” instead of this “next day delivery” nonsense.
Possibly not relevant for foodstuffs though

At our local school you can forget about driving past at least half an hour before chuck out time as drivers pull up as near as they can, across driveways,on double yellows, street corners and footpaths. Traffic wardens would have a field day.Lord help you if you drive a vehicle of decent size. I've said before on here sat behind one switched for about 10 minutes because he could not get through.I'd ban cars from within 200 yds of a school at this time. Soon see if Johnney needs picking up

It's still around isn't it? Cases detected in people last year and was rampant in the bird population last winter. That's what led to the egg shortage.

This is the current picture in the UK - one case in Scotland and one in England (well, Lincolnshire, a well known county of chicken pluckers).

Got my car insurance renewal through and it's a 45% increase on last year. More annoyingly it still beats a lot of other quotes I've got.

According to Martin Lewis the best time to get a renewal price is 20-25 days before renewal date. I look on price comparison sites & then ring up current provider to see if they can give me a better price but this year Carole Nash couldn't be bothered so I moved to a new provider.

Yep, I'm 20 days before and started looking this week but haven't had any joy. I was waiting for the renewal to see how it compared, was surprised that it beat all but 1 of the quotes.

Managed to get a car insurance monthly decrease of around £10-15 for when I renew. Paying £70 p/m currently.

Everything’s coming up Milhouse!
