Wasps season kicking off soon, are we worried about our style of play once they've egged all over it?

Why should we be ? There are a number of football Cubs share a pitch Swansea/ Ospreys Wigan & Wigan rugby league, pisses down all the time up there, does Reading still share think there are others njwith proper maintenance

I just remember our home form picking up when we moved to St Andrews because the surface suited our style and the Ricoh was very bobbly.

Yeah I am, really hoping the new agreement included extra ground staff for this. Last time it cut up horribly. Won't suit our play at all now

Yeah only the one game though, regular play through the winter months wrecked it last time

We have our own specialist groundsman now.

Said to my brother last night, I wonder at this level how much pressure the league put on clubs to ensure the pitch remains decent. Gotta be very poor etiquette these days inviting millionaires to play on ploughed fields and makes the league look a bit Micky mouse. Hopefully the new pitch is of the right quality and agreements are in place for proper maintenance as it can be done.

Do we have under soil heating ? I’m sure we do with correct usage of that grass can grow significantly over night

Hopefully we have a better deal for maintenance this season, like sufficient lamps to get it growing in Nov, Dec and January.

I remember one because of surrounding snow/fans safety to and from ground. But not because pitch was frozen. Could be wrong though (often am).

I think there was a year, possibly before Wasps came here where it was needed a lot.
The pitch detiorated terribly , like they'd cooked the grass, early days of Sisu I think.

I think that was more to do with surrounding roads/pavements.

In fact I now recall I was away in the Lake District during the “beast from the east” and a game was cancelled. That’s the one I’m thinking of. I was pissed off as I’d planned to watch (or possibly listen if it was pre-ifollow) in the hotel room.

There were loads of lamps at the bottom of Car Park B yesterday, looked to be plenty for the job at hand. Question is whether they have a good grounds team and not trying to do things on the cheap.

The pitch at St Andrews was awful in the 2nd half of last season but we seemed to adapt ok. We might have to be more direct in some games but I would like to think MR will have the team able to adapt this season if needed too.

I thought I'd read that the pitch this season, is essentially a better maintained version of the normal pitch. However, next summer I think they are due to replace the pitch with something akin to what Swansea have.

Maybe we should cancel the agreement n move away again?

The pitch has been top class so far but seeing the rugby markings on it last night got me worried.

It's essential that it's maintained to a high standard this time as we just won't be able to play the same football if it deteriorates as it has before.

Last nights game we'd have had no chance against Cardiff's aerial game if we couldn't play it on the deck.

Isn’t he just suggesting if the pitch deteriorates results may suffer or have to go more direct which doesn’t suit us? Don’t think anybody is advocating for another move outside the city

Not sure about these posters, but it's been used as an excuse to keeping us out of Cov before.

Hopefully we/wasps have sorted the pitch out.

Would hope it’s in the contract with Wasps that the pitch is kept at an acceptable standard all year round. Any idea @Sky Blue Pete?

Robins and Boddy are very happy with the pitch and arrangements to maintain it. It will be interesting to see what happens over the season of course

nobody wants us out of the city.

This is like replying to someone saying Dabo was stupid for the red yesterday by asking why they want us to release him.

You're arguing with people you've made up in your head. Healthy behaviour.

Only if people had been posting all last season saying they were happy with Josh Pask and didn’t ever like Dabo anyway.
