Pompey have been playing the same system and losing, they've sacked it off tonight as 'plan a isn't working' and they're winning.
Thing is, it is all well and good him saying other teams play it and it works but that's other teams. He needs to give it up.
We should offer Pressley an ultimatum, drop 5-3-2 and change the system, or go.
He doesn't play 5-3-2 it is 3-5-2 !!!
Don't the comments above sum it up though ....... no one is sure if it is 532 or 352...... no one is sure if the full backs play defensively, attacking or somewhere else entirely. Leads me to think that the players are not sure where they should be or how to play the positions asked of them. That surely means round pegs in square holes doesn't it and the team is not getting the best out of the players it has.
I have always thought that you look at the squad and set up the team to get the best from that squad...... you do not set up the team and force players to not play their natural game, to not play to their strengths and abilities........ ok the odd player for a specific match is understandable but many players for every match????? You can not expect optimum performance out of players if they are having to force/suppress their natural game to do something else, for one thing it increases the thought process and decision making is slowed or confused...... and you are not given that sort of time in a L1 match
SP needs to go back to basics, look at what he actually has as a squad and ask himself for each player what does that player best offer the team, then pull together a formation/system that gets that best. Right now all I see is muddled thinking on and off the pitch as far as the team goes and it is getting worse by the game

Was always taught that a good coach asks himself first what he could do better when things do not work. The problem right now is SP and he needs to look at himself and be big enough to say this aint right I need to change
