As that 'club' has no players registered, could the 'fielding ineligible players' charge not be applied then?
It does have the player registrationd, it's the contracts that are at CCFC Holdings.

The original league share was issued to CCFC Holdings Ltd (then known as The Coventry City Football Club Ltd), ie it was never with CCFC Ltd. If it is now with CCFC Ltd (which didn't exist before 1995), when did that happen? Perhaps following relegation back into the football league? Nobody seems to know.
I think you have the nub of it there!
The FL approved our entry into the league at some time in the past.
The "share" hasn't been moved but the names of the companies have been changed. It is quite possible the FL are not aware of the name changes of the companies.
I have looked up the records of the name changes and list below
If anyone is confident of when the share was given, we could draw some conclusion.
(the names have no significance, they could be called Ajax trucking for example, but judging by the company number "Holdings" is very much older and perhaps the original)
COVENTRY CITY FOOTBALL CLUB (HOLDINGS) LIMITED (Company No. 00094305)

In 1996, while the club was in the Premier League, all the football related contracts and agreements were transferred to CCFC Ltd (company no; 3056875). When the club were relegated to the Football League the FL golden share was issued to CCFC Ltd.
Is there anything to substantiate that? If it was as transparent as you say, surely there would be no doubt about it.
My post (& Ferrets) was not professing to know where it is but was suggesting circumstances and a possible reason (that it is a transaction from long in the past) that could explain why there is so much doubt.
