Is he a Catholic?

My family were. In just a couple of generations we have gone to mainly non believers. Then you have the real bad done in the name of Catholicism. In my eyes the majority must have used the faith to get what they want and are not believers themselves. I have had a quick look to see if his religion came up but it just came out with a link of his books. But I would bet on him coming from a religious background.

He gives a different view to what is going on. Has anyone read this article?

Yes. He is of course right. Gavin Williamson sending an aircraft carrier to piss China off is a classic example of delusion, the same as when he had a go at Russia after Salisbury.

No surprise that China have called off trade talks. We are leaving under a delusion which will soon be very clear to leavers who haven’t copped on yet.

Who still thinks that we are in a stronger position to negotiate with the USA, China and India outside the EU?

We were also told that it was project fear about airlines being affected by Brexit. BlueAir cancelled flights because of uncertainty, and now FlyBMI collapses: “Current trading and future prospects have also been seriously affected by the uncertainty created by the Brexit process, which has led to our inability to secure valuable flying contracts in Europe and lack of confidence around bmi’s ability to continue flying between destinations in Europe,” the airline said in a statement.

At what point will people realise that they have been had? Or will they just encourage „youngsters“ to watch the film „Dunkirk“ to make them see how great and powerful we are, whilst evacuating Europe.

Yes he is a Catholic who believes in his sky wizard but not the thousands of others people have worshipped since man walked the Earth. Still, he’s posh and uses long words so right wingers hold him up as an intellectual genius.

No one holds him up as anything. Also his views on abortion was not the point of discussion.

same, as I always say, if I hadn't gone to a catholic school I wouldn't be the atheist I am today.
As for rees mogg, cherry picks when to go with religion to suit his agenda. Against abortion and gay rights due to his religious beliefs but back the unchristian ideology of austerity to the hilt.

We belong to the same non religion

My Nan nearly died having her 5th child. She was warned that if she had any more there is a good chance she wouldn't survive. Her priest told her that any firm of contraception still wasn't allowed. Then she wasn't allowed to be a practicing Catholic. Add that to everything else that has happened and what you get is people not wanting to be a Catholic.

Jacob Rees-Mogg was his usual calm, assured self throughout the QT programme.

He articulated his opinions on all the issues from Ms Begum to Brexit, HS2 and Churchill with clarity and reason.

I suggest you look at the celebrated “mother Theresa” who said poverty was Gods will. I think one of the Hitchens (I assume Christopher) called her a thieving Albanian dwarf.

That’s not what she said. She said the basic standards of her home for the dying was God’s will. You’re probably misquoting someone who misquoted her.

...of it's followers. They meanwhile spend vast sums of money on grandoise structures for said sheep to worship their God. Why the fck you need a building of any sort to worship some unseen 'thing' I cannot fathom.

Have seen this happen to someone. She couldn't afford the childcare anymore. She had to go on benefits a few months ago. They put her on the wrong one where housing benefit wasn't allowed. She now has to wait about 6 weeks without money. She is about to lose her home as she can't pay the rent. I have taken her shopping although she protested. She is a proud woman. But like I said her child needs to eat. I am taking her shopping once a week until her money is sorted and then she is cooking me a meal. Her son is my youngest sons best friend. It is awful what the government is doing. They can have loans but if they have a loan they won't have the money when it is sorted.

How the fuck can it take about 6 weeks?

Christianity had a fundamental purpose at its peak to force workers into deprivation and slavery to the landowners on the pretence of a better life on the other side. The people on this side doing the preaching oddly already had a good life

The Vatican consulted Christopher Hitchens on mother Theresa before making her a Saint as he had written a book about her. He told them she was a cxxt. And they still made her a saint.

It isn’t arrogant it’s the truth.

Why don’t you believe in:

Zeus
Jupiter
Thor
Vishnu
Allah

Then tell me why Catholic God exists and they don’t.

100% more than you can. It was a quote she made to a biographer. You’re misquoting Christopher Hitchens I presume who in fact misquoted the original quote.

You list Allah and then ask why Catholic God exists when Allah doesn’t. You should probably learn some basics before asking such a question. Separating Allah from god tells me that you don’t understand that Islam and Christianity both celebrate the same god. As does Judaism.
