Won’t have to worry about that at the next World Cup. Women won’t be allowed in!

Is it? Is it also ‘sexist’ when they pan to random men too? No, because it’s a stupid suggestion to make.

Ironically, the implication of this warning would deter broadcasters showing ‘women’, which in itself is sexist you can argue because it reinforces the stereotype that football is a Male-centric past time. These kind of warnings are actually creating a less inclusive environment if we’re essentially accepting the exclusivity of football to men. Also, who defines beauty in this case? It’s a silly bluff from FIFA, imo.

And it's definitely sexist without doubt. Yep, random men, but usually men wearing silly hats or dressed up to the nines in their team's colours. With the women it is pretty much universally picking out young, beautiful looking females.

If they showed a load of images of handsome men too, it would make more sense, but it can be a 40 year old fat bald bloke if he's in the right garb, but pretty much always with a female (wouldn't be surprised if it IS 100% of the time) they focus on a pretty girl.

Sexist without doubt.

It really doesn't bother me in the slightest, but there is no doubt at all that that deliberately focus on beautiful, young women when choosing people for the camera shots.

Be interested to see what women in general feel about it.

It's never been a thing on my radar, but it is definitely very noticeable what they are doing.

Yeah they've always done it but what next, someone complains when children are focused on so stop that as well ? The worlds gone ruddy mad.

Would they focus on the pretty ladies if they had a jumper on and wolly hat or is it because they have chosen to wear a tight top, I do wonder if it is something the Qataris have asked for. It’s a bit sexist but far worse things are happening in the world, if this is the biggest issue to come out of this World Cup then they are looking for the wrong things they need to sort out things on the pitch first.

It was pretty silly when England players did something good but the camera cut to a (admittedly attractive) girl in the stand with a Croation flag painted on her face.

Yeah, agree with that and as I say, it doesn't bother me at all.

Would like some women's views on the matter though. I wonder if they are truly bothered or not.

I asked a woman I know and she said she has absolutely no interest in football whatsoever and doesn't care what they show because she never watches it.

I don’t care who they focus on in the crowd as long as it isn’t those doing the bloody Mexican Wave.

What about if it's gorgeous, beautiful topless women doing the Mexican wave?

You have a point there. They should be encouraged to do it at half time so the tv could focus on them rather than the boring pundits in the studio. Mind you I would probably prefer a topless fat bloke doing the Mexican wave than have to listen to more of Ian Wright.

My wife thought it was sexist and moaned about it and said it was wrong every time they did it.

As terry gibsons perm says there are far worse things going on in the world....however that doesn't make it OK. The Tour de France and other grand tours have stopped using podium girls due to sexism.

Definitely wrong for sure and clearly sexist. Wasn't sure just how irritated women would be by it though.

Don't think my missus would be fussed. Different background though entirely.

Some of you guys need to get a life.

One minute there are complaints about football not being inclusive for women, the next some are moaning that only certain women...

Well nevermind. Who gives a shit other than other jealous women? Because that's what it usually boils down to.

If Gabby Logan can take the piss out of Maguire's head, why is this a big problem?

This planet is slowly killing itself.

2 things to add:

1: The girls/women the camera focuses in on are exhibitionists......clealry dressed to attract attention from the media or others......they love it.

2. Its funny when one of the complainants that started the twitter backlash gets totally rumbled for being a hypocritical gobshite....

In practice how is this actually going to work? You can't say not to show women in the crowd but still show men as that would be sexism.

So if FIFA are just saying no attractive people on camera are they going to have someone sat with the director at each game to instruct who is unattractive enough to be shown, and if its only unattractive people shown aren't people you do show going to be unhappy?

What about players that people find attractive, are they allowed to be shown on camera? Best to just have a shot of some empty seats for 90 mins with commentary over the top just to make sure nobody is upset.

It's simple really. If they can show a 40 year old, beer bellied, bald man in a silly hat, they can show a 40 year old beer bellied, bald woman in a silly hat.

Just show fans. Could be a gran, could be a 50 year old, could be a 30 year old. Could be a man, could be a woman. It's all very simple.

A TV camera consistently showing gratuitous images of attractive women is completely different to football being inclusive for women. But with your comments above it seems clear you aren't really understanding what sexism is.

You've missed the point spectacularly whilst you try and virtue-signal to the rest of the forum. Are you an ugly woman by any chance?

If they start zooming in on unattractive women in the crowd they will then be done for fat shaming or something similar. At least these women want to be filmed.

I have actually seen many occasions where average looking people have been caught in the crowd but that doesn't seem to matter.

Well your reply here as only added to my thoughts that you have no idea what sexism actually is. You are either on the wind up or just stupid, my guess is both.
