Temporary or Permanent (3 Viewers)

Only 6 or 8 weeks ago all on here we're doom & gloom, players leaving never to be replaced & little prospect of a return to the City or the Ricoh be it temporary or permanent!

Players like managers have always come and gone but my (our) support is for life, regardless of the ups & downs and disagreements over ownership and where we play.

At least we have a club and team to support but wouldn't have done so but for the current owners moving in to save us at the 11th hour, a fact frequently forgotten by the vast majority of posters on this site.

The manager is obviously tweeking the system and has so far brought in 6 players and is on the look out for 3 or 4 more, with the right DNA to fit into our tightly knit squad.

A return to Coventry has to be the main priority for the manager, players & most importantly the supporters. The terms have to be right for CCFC not just in the short term but also in the long term under FIFA - FFP!

We cannot go back to the arrangement that almost brought the club to it's knees many years ago, during our final days at Highfield Road. Whilst CCC stepped in at the 11th hour to finance the building of the Ricoh, they've never really embraced CCFC and from the outside it appears others (Davis Cup etc. etc.) have taken priority over our football club. Have we ever really felt that the Ricoh felt like home?

Well it appears that at least in the short term all parties involved appear to be talking and taking a more sensible view that just may result in a short term return.

However my long term hope is for a ground that we control and mostly benefits CCFC above all others and possibly feels a little more like home!

Should we get back to the Ricoh that will be it, SISU or any other new owner would not be allowed to move us again unless a new ground is built, ready and waiting INSIDE Coventry, the football league would never again sanction another ground share. In fact I doubt it would sanction any such move again anywhere, their fingers have been well and truly burnt by our fiasco.

Saved us from what exactly? A fate worse than SISU? It certainly wasn't administration as we did that process under SISU. So what exactly did they save us from?

Of course there would have been a club to support AND in Coventry. /who knows under what guise or division and we might have had to go down the administration route as we did last season but we would still exist, in fact I am more confident we would have survived then they we will now. Much longer with this crowd at the helm the more precarious we become imo.

Although a fair portion of your post is sensible i can't help but feel your touting for a SISU PR exec job? *which incidentally is significantly better thought out that the current affair

We can have everything we want, it's there for the taking.
All we have to do is get SISU to buy into it.
Ahh I see the problem now.

Do you think CCC would be allowed to give away everything for free after financing it ? The electorate for one would be up in arms and as for Euro competition rules !!

Would you like to bet on that? Within between 6 & 7 miles from the centre!

The club not existing and unable to full fill fixtures! Ask Joe or Gary.

I would clarify that. He will need an e-mail address as poor Tony has a phone phobia.

Nonsense. They didn't even save us from admin, from what we can tell the club would've been far better off going into admin at the time (with or without the GS switcheroo).

They put us on life support and we're still there. We're hardly "safe" at the moment are we? At the whims of a mad woman.

Judging by your avatar and the way she levitates whilst holding an umbrella, I am not sure she is mad, just proper mental!.

Why would any city fan support their club in moving that far from the city?

Between 6 & 7 miles from the centre would locate the ground as far south as Cubbington, as far north as George Elliot Hospital, as far east as Church Lawford, and as far west as Stonebridge Island.

None of these places are Coventry, they have their own unique identities. Only a moron or a traitor would support such a move imo.

I'm neither but as always will continue to support the manager and the team.

You're jumping the gun anyway, why just wait and see what transpires!

Perhaps SISU wanted to avoid a bidding process in administration with other parties who might have entered the fray?

So the manager and the team of the day are more important to you than the link between the City of Coventry and Coventry City?

I like Pressley and the players, but to be perfectly honest, with everything that's going on, I couldn't give a toss if the manager and players feel supported. They will all have moved on within a few years anyway. To them its a job and we are the customer. Its nothing more than that.

Yes and even closer to Bedworth town centre we all know where it is it is the only plot big enough within the area that Sisu have mentioned funny thou.

Some on here say the Ricoh is a soulless concrete shit hole in Holbrooks funny how our new one will be less then a mile away concrete and even more soulless oh and a motorway running above it..:thinking about:

I have been down and had a look at it have you ???????

Perhaps they could use the land by Bretford...........after all, the Government were going to build a fecking airport there, so lots of land available.

I think that highlights the absurdity of this plan. A major wealth creating project with some government support couldn't even get past the proposal stage due to the difficulty in building on greenbelt land.

As I've said before, there is no chance of a football ground being built on greenbelt land.

Especially when it's being proposed by an organisation that has a history of repeated failures in legal battles.
