Not quite on topic, but just had a phone call from friend who has just been to the new 'ticket office' on 101? Lockhurst Lane. Its apparently located on the 3rd floor and amounts to a lady at a single desk. Having paid for some Shrewsbury tickets he decided to go and collect. Big mistake, big mistake. The tickets weren't there and there are none left. The ticket system has gone down, the ticket officer/manager is apparently away for 3 weeks, so she wasn't able to do anything to solve his problem. To make matters even worse they have already booked and paid for their train tickets, and yet the lady seemingly couldn't say if they would get their tickets despite already buying them online. Further evidence that SISU aren't necessarily the super slick organisation that some people think they are.

Shocking, I hope they paid by credit card and can get their money back if no tickets emerge.

goes to show that despite what greg clarke had to say about sisu's finances- there is no evidence of them wanting to spend it on the club.
If they ever build a ground, it will be a cheap shambolic affair.
If they were serious about being in it for the long haul and building a business with revenues - they would have opened a decent size outlet in the city centre- but no! its a barrow at tesco and a dingy squat on lockhurst lane.
very sad that we have sunk to these pathetic levels.
sisu out

Sisu are paying the players wages, with little income they trying to keep the team together.
The Academy players are a product of Sisu investment over the 6 years

He ought to contact the Cov Telegraph to report this shambles but they probably won't run the story as they need the advertising income and they don't want to upset their new customer?

That's the Academy they wanted to shut down under Ranson and then moved out of the near purpose built home to Warwick Uni. As I said in another thread if that goes we're well and truly screwed and will be playing in League 2 sooner rather than later unless a miracle happens.

it shouldnt be that expensive to be honest, your talking hundreds not thousands.

£13.60 per single centimeter column x 306 cm (per page) = £4161 x 2 £8323 for a DPS (Double Page Spread) not including colour, for 1 insertion into the CT, well its probably gone up now im going back about 5 years...

A ripoff considering how small the readership must be now.

They've spent it all on ribbons!

No, seriously, an ad will cost considerably more than you would imagine. Wouldn't surprise me if the Telegraph quote a silly price just to put the trust off?

Their and all newspapers ad rates used to be found on he newspaper society website...not if they still do...

Interesting...wonder if the EDF or BNP or an ad for 18 year old girls to star in hardcore porn would be equally received?

The BNP and EDF can advertise, however If it was deemed to be illegal or immoral it would fall outside of the advertising standards and not be allowed...not sure a football club trying to sell tickets is the same

thats rate card i have quoted...tbh it soon falls as soon as the end of the month comes around and targets need to be hit, you could probably get a page for £1000 but you would have to of done some business with them before you got some and spectacular deals - your right circulation on a Friday when I worked there was 98k, its around 30k if that now...real good paper in its day. Trinity Mirror have fooked it right up...

Torch, lets say the advert says something that could be challenged in a court of law, we could find some heavy paperwork dropping through our letter box for sure.
How would that help anyone? The trust and fans need to be working towards doing everything to get Coventry back in Coventry.
Don't know where you get the idea that we lay on free coach trips to London. We had some donations from some very kind fans specifically for that purpose but that was all. Everyone that went paid.
That's the trouble with making things up and posting them as fact. Someone might just believe you.
As a trust we have to ensure we have a £1 for every member. Our "fighting fund" was very much depleted from the march. A number of the trust board paid for stuff out their own pocket. It cost me £180 but worth every penny to see all the fans on Gosford Green :)
Yes be have bought ribbons because we believe its the right thing to do and have the support of our members. The board member that picked them up made a round trip of between 350 - 400 miles and didn't get a penny towards his petrol.
It's easy to sit behind a keyboard and have a pop ain't it.

The Newspaper retains the right to decline adverts of their choosing...for example this particular one risks offending some. The fact is SISU money meant more to them.

It doesn't have be controversial. Just "keep cov in cov" would do and a plea to join the Trust.

The march was a fantastic highlight amongst the other stuff of which some has been far less successful.

You could even put an ad in the Northampton paper.

Did you get 'heavy paperwork' for calling Appleton a poodle?

Best place for an ad would be int times business section / financial times and the telegraph where ppl sisu deal with would be looking

This is the best idea as all of seppala and fisher and co's friends and business associates read these

No we didn't, but that was Mr Appleton.
Seriously, the amount of people on the fringes and in the thick of things who have had warning shots across their bows is frightening. Fans are frustrated about local media not being so vocal. Why do you think that is?
Work it out mate, it's not rocket science!

Mr. trot.

How much did the march cost?

What were the breakdown of costs?

I ask mainly because such information might help you get retrospective donations to pay for it... ;)

(from a personal POV I think such messages are far more constructive than others, so would rather support those messages if I have the chance to!).

I'd say the best part of a grand. Stage hire, horse and horse box hire, expenses for the girls. My credibility, going into Ann summers asking for skin coloured body stockings and being told no but being too polite not to walk out when being shown the full range of basques on offer. Wigs and body stocking were £60.

Don't you think it might be to your advantage to break down the expenses and stick them up on your website?

Not in a 'look at us, we're desperate for cash' way, but just for information, (doesn't even need a statement ;) )... if nothing else just to show what money was spent on, so people can decide whether they want to give more/ feed back where they think some cash could have been saved etc?

Good idea. The Trust should be as transparent as they want SISU to be.

I'd also like to ask Mr Trot if the Trust are also putting pressure on ACL and CCC? If yes, what are you doing? If not, why not?

If you want to get that detail, join the trust and get on the board.

Or are you just a pedant?

Our next open meeting will be just that. An opportunity to get a bit of a time line of what we have done. Answer any questions and get suggestions on how we move forward. You should come along and ask questions, you might be surprised with the answers.
