Team and fans not politics and hedge fund profits (5 Viewers)

All the talk about talks seems to be saying the only way to get CCFC back to Cov is to sell the Ricoh to sisu. That might be a political solution for the council and would help sisu's balance sheet but shouldn't the question be what is the best way to secure a long-term sustainable future for CCFC with success on the pitch and stability off it? Aren't the team and fans more important than local politics and hedge fund profits? There should only be two priorities - the team and fans, but it feels like they are the very last consideration in setting up these talks.

Heard you on the radio this morning. Agree Michael.

I think ACL/CCC/SISU forget that without us lot they wouldn't have a business to milk.

yeah, don't know whether it's true but seem to be a fair few people saying acl were able to use the CCFC rent to disguise the failure to make a profit and there are serious worries about their viability but sisu are equally desperate to show their investors some kind of gain from the CCFC investment. Might suit political and profit interests to off load the ricoh to sisu, council washes their hands of the whole thing and as fans we're left with an owner who wants return on her investment, isn't interested in football and has shown complete disregard for fans. Very much hope this is wrong but wouldn't bet against it

The question still remains in all this, "what is the Ricoh worth?" Sisu don't have the funds to buy and build a 12000 seat stadium with out outside investment, the price for the Ricoh is going to be significantly more than this. If the Council under value the package they will once again be open to judicial review for not getting the proper return on a council investment. The other thing is what are Sisu after and what are the council willing to sell? I thought, but wait to be corrected, that their was some kind of point of contract that the land around had to be developed? Will the council just sell the stadium and business and not the land around it so they can develop it themselves or sell it to make a better return for tax payers. Sorry folks but its not a s simple as just selling the Ricoh to Sisu. NOPM.

I hate to say it, but not one bit of the legal or regulatory framework, or in fact the game itself gives two shits about fans.

We have literally no power, as this whole debacle has shown.

Find me one example of fans forcing business to do something it didn't want to.

That time 40 people stood on that hill in the rain.

Oh, and the bloke on here who "continuously tried to understand how the situation could be resolved" that helped too.

Wow. Not sure it has anything to do with the topic, but that's for sharing.

I know....but its Friday...

....was just trying to reinforce your assumption that protesting changes nothing....

whether that's a few blokes on a hill, a few blokes outside the CCC offices or over 1 million marching against war in Iraq....

...I dunno what i'm on about actually.....bit wrecked to be honest....think I'll go play on youtube for a while...

'Literally no power' - does that mean you think nopm and all the kcic activity has been a complete waste of time?

Supporters Trusts have been very successful at many clubs - do you not think the same could be true for us?

Its not simply a question of forcing them to do something it doesn't want to. There are two other factors here:

For me personally, I would find it morally wrong to watch CCFC play in Northampton regardless of who owned us.

Also, there is the argument then of, if sisu are determined to do this, then lets make it cost the bastards as much as possible.

This is why the move to try and make the Ricoh a community asset has to be strangled at birth.

The owners have to own the ground or their is no club. Your whole attitude is based on bitterness and resentment. It's like the biblical tale of the child the disproved mother wanted to cut in half. You put the club second behind the hatred for the owners.

When Grendel and shmmee both agree something is a bad idea it's confirmation it's exactly the right thing to do! Hope the Trust have got the community asset transfer application ready to post..
