Confirmed Signing Taiwo Awoniyi (2 Viewers)

Surely were going to have a chant for Awoniyi to the tune of The One And Only by Chesney Hawkes? Surely! It writes itself.

He never had much of a chant at Forest. It was either oh oh Taiwo Awoniyi to the 7 nation army tune or just chanting Taiwo, Taiwo, Taiwo - he deserves a good tune bless him!

Has BTA ever played striker for us? I know on paper he is but feels more like a winger/AM in reality.
It’s where I have some sympathy for him. He rarely plays in his best role. His own versatility seems to count against him.

Don't think he's got a best position and that's why he plays all over. He's a bit of a headless chicken and works his nuts of which is a great characteristic for us to have

He had the song to the Heartbeat theme.

Taiwo
Taiwo Awoniyi please score a goal for me...

Nah.... How about this (to Flintstones theme tune)

Taiwo Awoniyi
A big fooker for Coventry
Was not born in Leicester
He'd have six fingers, wouldn't he...!

(Nul points, as they say in Eurovision)

To the tune of Day-O (the song in Beetlejuice)
by Harry Belafonte

Taiwo, Taaaaiwo..

Taiwo come and he's gonna score goals

Only issue is if we emulated the accent in the original song we might get cancelled

There's no "might" about it. How would that work, points deduction or fine?

How's big T getting on? I noticed he scored and got an assist in the cup.
Looks a class above our other options in terms of hold up play, physicality and generally troubling defenders. Did miss a great chance last time out. As long as he doesn’t do that every time I think he’ll be good for us.

He’s doing everything right and well until the final product should have a couple goals by now, but put it down to rust and lack of sharpness, when one hits the net I can see him going on a run. He’s playing very well and seems a bargain for 9m

They were talking about him on 5live last night and someone said they were talking to someone who gas worked closely with him in the past and he said he just needs a run of games and to be starting every week and he'll come good.

He was quite streaky with us. When he was on it he was untouchable for a few weeks.
he looked very strong and direct against Arsenal. Took his goal well in the cup, really should of scored against Man city

Hopefully he will break his league duck tomorrow ;)

Has everyone calmed down enough now to retract the “worst striker to ever play for us bollocks”

I actually think his defensive work from the front is really good. He’s very quick to pounce on loose passes
I'm sure he'll be Lampards starting option more often than not, with Cherif as the young 'project' striker. Interested to see where Wright fits in, we know Lampard likes him and we know he's more than happy to give chances to players who served him well in The Championship.

Fair play to him on Saturday, led the line really well and scored a good deserved goal. I was a bit harsh on him after the Fulham game as couldn't see what he offered without goals, having been sent off and then brought back in at the expense of Ellis who scored from the bench and was then dropped, but Simms doesn't score goals like the one Awonyi did on Saturday. Perhaps Frank does know a little more than me after all :)

100% ..I'm a big fan of Simms. But that's exactly what thought. Simms doesn't score goals like that.

That sort of goal typifies the sort of goals Awoniyi scores. At the moment it suits our style and system.

Is it possible we revert to Wright on the left? Gboho on the right?
