Onyeka seems to be more of a talisman because he made the fewest defensive contributions of all the midfielders, barely touched the ball yesterday and had by far the lowest rating of those who started, yet is still getting credit. I would say having a CB who can defend has done more for us tbh.

But as Brighton said, its our shape, its so much better with him in the team.

No. Its more nuanced, but his signing is a major factor.
Grimes was being left hung out to dry on his own.

Grimes seems to be pushing on a lot more as well.

Although yesterday yeah Onyeka wasn't as in the spotlight as his first 2 games but still made a very good interception just as they were about to shoot.

Onyeka presence is doing wonders for the team and now teams are focusing on him more than on Grimes. If we get to the promised land, which is becoming more of a reality game by game we have to get used to seeing quality. That is no disrespect to our lads but they need a few calming influences that can take the fluid out of an opponent and can instill authority in our play. FL can do so much but you need brains and it is no coincidence that since Lati came in the defence seems more resilient. Lati is a smart player.

It's ironic that a lot of the players we paid money are only making the bench and sometimes not even there..

Maybe I’m mad, but I’d be intrigued by him playing CB.

Onyeka is the missing piece to our jigsaw but the unsung hero of the season is Rushworth. Class act. He needs a song

Just got a shit name for the purpose of lyric writing!
Simple:

He dives to the left
He dives to the riiiiiight
Super Carl Rushworth
He's fucking dynamite

Or you can do as the Rangers fans did for Allan McGregor and change the last line to 'shags 10 birds a night'...
