Although he’s certainly not the best free transfer of all time I can’t take you seriously after the ‘Listen to me just hear me out’ thread

Baka outperforms biamou in the league and over the course of his tenure at a higher level mostly...

Evo, I agree with much of what you have said, and disagree with some of it - respecting opinions is key though!
I don't understand you using the term "universally", as I was very pleased last week to hear several people cheering and encouraging Baka in his battle against Pompey, and he certainly got a good reception when he was subbed.

Fair point, universally is probably too much.

And yes I do have to respect opinions, I'm one of those that struggles to bite his lip lol

A late contribution:
1. Max was out for most of last season with an acl - most players on their return take some time to return to their previous level of performance.
2. This season he looks like an improved player and is still improving - well done coaching staff!
3. He is a team player and creates space for others to exploit.
4. Both popular within the squad, as well as outside. .... unlike Leon Clarke who was only interested in himself and next signing on fee.

In short, we have an improving team player who is an important contributor to the culture of the squad and provides MR with a different tactical option.

Not so much this season, but at the Ricoh we’ve had our fair share who enjoyed cheering when Baka was subbed for example.

Also: our song for him is literally taking the piss that he’ll never score 20 goals and he’s always offside.

It’s the same argument regarding Burge

if we’d invested in a decent striker to actually play in this system we’d be promoted by now

We haven’t
Can I question you on your ability to state as fact that we would have been promoted with a different keeper to Burge, or that we'd have been promoted by now with a "decent striker"?
Noone can do this - even you, unless you can predict/change history. In which case, what numbers should I pick to definitely win next weeks lottery?
It would surely be better to say "we'd probably have been promoted", which is true.

Everyone is right at the same time on the support for Baka.

Most of our fans quite rightfully support Baka on the pitch.

But there’s certainly a minority who do not.

Last week as he was being subbed a couple of pissed up young lads broke into a chorus of: ‘you’re shit and you know you are.’ Probably been reading too much of the negativity on here! That’s why I sometimes intervene to address the balance - often becoming a target for abuse myself. As others have on here who dare to offer a different voice. But so be it. Not going to be bullied out of having a contrary view by insults and character attacks.

I now believe the majority think that all of our players who have featured over the past few months have roles to play. It’s brilliant to have 14 games left and to be in such a good position. PUSB and let’s support all of our players.

Just doesn’t matter what you, I, or anyone thinks of max and Baka. They are, along with Godden, what we have for the rest of the season. I don’t care about previous goals to minutes, appearances, sub appearances, cup v league goal ratios etc etc. What I care about is can Robins use them effectively as lone strikers or part of a two in the final run in...so that between them they score, contribute enough to get us over the line. If we go up they will have their place in CCFC folklore and deservedly so.

FUCKIT

I’ll say it.

Robins (for being a striker as a player) doesn’t, for whatever reason* play a system (currently) that plays to a strikers benefit.

He concentrates on midfield (holding and advancement) and a solid defence. Which means we’ve probably conceded less than a lot of teams in the league (can’t be arsed to look).

Arguing amongst ourselves about strikers stats and selfies seems a bit fucking redundant when half the time, the system currently employed, leaves the fuckers running around for scraps.

*It’s working so I ain’t knocking it

It’s not all about strikers, if it was P’boro would be top of the league. As it happens, we’re above them, and they’ve lost 7 more games than us. For all their goal scoring ability, they seemingly can’t win if they concede the first goal, whereas we are the ‘comeback kings’ of this division.

We don’t need a 20 goal a season striker, in fact, none of the teams around us have one either - with the exception of P’boro.

who on earth is saying that, its absolutely woeful apart for a better pitch early season and better pubs enroute to the ground ? The Ricoh has never felt like home, but this place certainly doesn't. Most games at St Andrews this season have felt like reserve games.

The only person that really needs to rate max is Robins.

Robins obviously rates him higher than Hiwula. And rates him high enough to make appearances every game when for and available.

Just to finish off my Input into this thread I believe all 3 strikers will score important goals for us from now until the seasons end... If we are to be promoted that will ofcourse happen.

I hope max scores a bag full ofcourse

Trying to have a logical discussion about the striker does not mean I dislike the bloke, as I've said I like him.

Here's hoping they do the business and help propel us up to the championship.

Can't believe we are talking about the championship, it's been so long and at one point 3 years ago seemed an impossible task.

Not necessarily you however it’s evident in parts of the ground. As I said it might have been worse at the Ricoh not by where we sat but there were twice as many people plus we weren’t doing as well. If we were in the same position at the Ricoh do you think it would be any different?

Max Biamou

Was part of the most significant change in tactic this season.

23rd October vs Fleetwood at Home.

After the back to back defeats at Rotherham/Tranmere, then drawing a blank at a MK Dons in dissaray. We found ourselves totally outplayed first half and losing fortunately by just one goal vs Fleetwood.

Robins then went 3 at the back. Bringing in Mcfadz into the back 3.

Also Bringing on Max Biamou at half time for Jordy Hiwula.

Those huge changes in formation changed our season.

After 13.5 games untill the change.
21 points. We were lying in 9th place.

The 16.5 games since picked up since picked 36 points.

Biamou changed the game with his first meaningfully game time of season.

Not crediting him with huge change since then.

Significant . Hiwula has only played 16 mins since.

What a change.

11 goals in all competitions since end of October (posh game) in number has had a massive part to play in our success since then.

There were many on here (il try not to snigger )calling for Hiwula to be back in the team at Biamous expense.

Biamou has totally justified his place in the team.
