I think EMC has the physique and technique to be decent in the PL , and from what we've seen so far of Markelo he looks like he could progress also . LW/LWF is one area ,alongside RB , where I think we have enough already
I think we will sign a striker who can also cover the wing.

I still stick by we will sign:

GK
CB x 2
LB
CM x 2
CAM
ST/Winger

I think Simms being sold will depend on offers for Wright though.

With prem promotion that 3-4m for Simms becomes £8m, so think it will be harder to get a profit, whereas 8/9m on Wright can easily see someone wanting to pay £20m+ for him.

If thats the case can see Simms being retained as a 2/3rd choice.
Paying that 8m has paid for itself effectively, as has all the promotions clauses we’ve had in

I dont think the club will see it as making profit now. They will see it as raising funds.

If we could get £7m from Simms to reinvest it is better to do that then sell wright for £15m+
Yeh if you can lose say 3 players who are barely going to play and make the cost of an extra player who will start every week then its a no brainer really.

I would like us to go for players like Galbraith. I think he would be a great understudy for Grimes and also provide cover generally due to his versatility. Like Grimes, he is great receiving the ball in tight spaces and is very composed on the ball. He wouldn't be cheap but maybe a realistic price bracket with good sell on value.

I’m not saying it’s true but to instantly dismiss it is also moronic.

Last year we talked about forming a more strategic alliance with Posh where we might get first refusal on some players going forward. It’s not impossible therefore that we have continued to monitor their brightest young players.

When ever there is a transfer rumour on here some people default position is “ it’s bollox “ ….

It's hardly moronic, that's a bit extreme.

He's quite literally the biggest bullshitter in the EFL and is regularly called out by his own club's fanbase for his constant misleading and outlandish rhetoric.

It might have some semblance of truth to it, but what gain does he have to make by publicly announcing that unless it's to put his players out to market?

I'd strongly suggest applying some critical thinking before you call out others for being morons..... Glass houses and all that.

I think JDS will stay and play backup.

I think BTA and Simms will go. We cant get a better chance to get value from them.

Yeah I'd be shocked if JDS went, from his comments in interviews Lampard rates him highly.

BTA I can see staying because he offers energy which we'll need in abundance in the PL, Simms for me will almost certainly go.

For me Simms, Torp, Allen, one or both of Kitching/Wolf, Bidwell, Brau, Bassette, Collins, Raphael will be off. Along with Rushworth, Yang, Esse going back to their parent clubs.

Yes but a) we've likely got a big backlog of promotion clauses, so will be £15m-ish maybe before we've even improved the squad for the prem, and b) we are a very financially attuned club, so no way we're not think about player profitability from sales.

Yeah rates him in the Championship. We all know JDS gets absolutely smoked in the Premier League.

While that's true we also have to be realistic. There are other priorities we have to look at before seeking out a new backup LB which makes me think he'll probably stay - as much as i do agree we need an upgrade.

People seem to think we’ll be signing a whole new squad. A lot of players will stick around as backup we aren’t going to sign 20 new players FFS

I think we may need an additional RB too. I can't see KKH wasting another year sitting on the bench. Even if he's only loaned out for the season.

Yeh 100% this. I genuinely don't think it would be much of a stretch for our starting lineup on 1st day of the season to include:

(GK)
MVE
Thomas
(CB)
(LB)
Grimes
Onyeka
Rudi
Tatsu
EMC
Wright

I think there will be 5-7 "potential to be starters" signings and all else decided by whether we get good offers for players not listed above.

If this is the case we're coming back down with record levels of low points.

There's a reason the teams who go up who don't spend (Luton, Burnley, Sheff Utd) come back down within a season.

We'll need to invest as that above won't be good enough

Agree with this. We need 5-6 players better than what we have plus a couple of maybes.
