I think it's a tad naive to think that PL managers (PL clubs) are unaware of top Championship players. One plus that FL has over premier league managers. if we are promoted, is a knowledge of the championship. Players like Hughes and James are just names to most manager but FL knows them, and their potential, first hand.
Kodai Sano & Promise David - probably struggle to get them though
Bit random but I saw this guy play at left back when I was in Germany and I thought he looked really good - Hennes Behrens
Could see us going for Franculino Dju. Top scorer in Denmark despite a 4-month injury. 19 G/A in 17 games. West Ham had a £13m rejected in the summer.
Don't see us steering hard away from the strategy under King and Austin to date. Taking risks on players that haven't played much football and / or have sketchy injury records hasn't been our speed.
Expecting more expensive, more proven versions of the Euro signings i.e. Haji, MVE, Sakamoto, Torp mixed with less obvious low cost / freebies from the Prem like Dasilva and Lati were from this league.
Basically, need people who watch loads of Euro football or know how to use data scout websites to post random suggestions for me to get excited about - think Transfermarkt valuations of €10-20m.
Eric Martel vibes. Thanks in advance!
Edit: looked through a list of potential Prem free agents and I could only see see two or three that would make any sense and all of them were at Brentford! e.g. Janelt, Henry, Jensen. Nevermind.
Would like to see us going for Franculino Dju...

I don't know if we missed the boat, more we simply couldn't compete with Strasbourg at the time. Makes a mockery of some that were unimpressed with this potential signing though, shame it didn't come off.Sounds like we really missed the boat on this one

It's not my usual character to disagree, usually if I disagree I just move on but I feel very strongly about this. We don't need 4 or 5 young guns from abroad who are untried and have their own agenda of getting into the premier league and have a clause in their contract that if we go down they can leave. That is not a good way to go.Looks like Palace, Everton and even Bayern are looking at him. He's under contract until July 2029, and they want £25m+ for him.

Signing Franculino Dju would be an ambitious but incredibly difficult deal for Coventry to pull off if they win promotion.
While his talent is undeniable, the reality is that he is already being pursued by Champions League-level clubs. Here is the breakdown of why he fits the profile, and why the competition is likely too steep.
Why He Fits the "Promoted Club" Profile
If Coventry wants to survive in the Premier League, they need young, athletic scorers. Dju ticks those boxes perfectly:
· Clinical Finisher: He has recorded 30 goals and 9 assists across his last three domestic seasons. In Europe this season, he scored 3 goals in just 315 minutes.
· Physical & Fast: He is a mobile striker who presses hard, with a top speed recorded at 33.16 km/h.
· High Upside: At 21, he fits the "develop and sell for profit" model that promoted teams often rely on.
The Reality Check: Premier League Interest
The issue is not his quality, but his market. Even if Coventry are promoted, they would face a losing battle against established top-tier clubs who are actively tracking him:
· The Competition: Crystal Palace and Everton have been credited with interest, and reports even link him with Bayern Munich.
· The Price Tag: Midtjylland has him under contract until 2029. They are reportedly demanding a fee in the region of €30-45 million ($32-48 million).
· The Risk: He is returning from a knee injury that required surgery, which is always a slight gamble for a club breaking their transfer record.
In short, he is good enough to play in the Premier League, but the financial pull of clubs like Palace or Bayern makes this an unrealistic target for a newly promoted Coventry side.
He will probably go to the USA or Saudi.Salahs Just announced he's leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Doug and Lamps been in his ear?

I saw this on BBC, interesting articleif Lyon don't qualify for Europe I'd love to see us try and tempt Tyler Morton back. Might be someone that could grow with us over a couple of seasons.
Our best bet of staying up is a 4/5 signings from the continent for £20m ish. Trust our recruitment team to find some gems.
I meant £20m per player!I agree with the sentiment but I think we will spend much more. Maybe £20m on a striker.

We need experience. I agree with the call to bring in Stone, or someone similar, as his knowledge would be valuable to pass on, or a Henderson and we should break the pay stucture for their person. Then we should look at the teams going down and see if there are decent performers there. We don't need a team full of 'star' performers from the championship, because then we are a championship team in waiting.
However, we have an excellent CEO, Head coach and recruitment team that can bring in what we need, thank God we are supporters and DK doesn't listen to us.
