We’re still tenants? We have a 96 year lease or whatever.
Even I having gave king lots of stick, think he’s done well for us here. Here’s an idea, put the phone down, open the front door, walk outside into the fresh air and take some time away from this forum….you’ll find out it’s good for you and it means you’ll stop embarrassing yourself on here. Fucking Clown

I didn't even see any on Facebook! I did see this one but I haven't deciphered it enough to figure out if it's negative or not

I interpret that as:

The Rugby Football Club known as "Wasps Rugby Football Club" shall here-forthwith be referred to as "Rugby Club"

The complainant, shall here-forthwith, be referred to as "Andy David".

Andy David has been on the piss since this news come out, and can't type properly. However it appears he objected to Rugby Club playing at the CBS Arena

This is fantastic news. Never saw this coming.
So I'm assuming it's the lease for 150 years or whatever it was? If so then that comes with the ownership of the 'whole' stadium complex including casino etc. I expect the hotel is leased out, so assume wecontrol that and earn from it. The casino maybe leased too and the exibit halls I will assume will be an asset we also control to rent out.
A full repairing and insuring lease will mean the upkeep is on us, but the potential increase in business avenues, and I also assume car parking facilities?.... will be huge.
I would like to see what the details are exactly, and whether we bought it lock, stock, and barrel so to speak.

Either way the football clubs value has now changed over night!
Curious as to why now from Mike Ashley?

Great stuff though, and a promotion to go with it would be the icing on the cake.

…probably because he’s made a decent profit on it.

Fantastic! 1.30 in the morning apparently! I bet the value of the club has doubled over night.

I'm not sure what they'll do now with the casino, hotel and all that gubbins. It's always lost money (quite a lot of money) and King won't want that sucking cash out of the club.

I've been ill the last 24hrs - nothing serious. Just a bit of man flu but felt rough.

A Pompey mate messaged me the press release statement and I was like, 'WTF?!'.

Instantly felt better. What a proud day for our club and all of you up there celebrating. Lets get 3 points now and maybe even top of the table today!

i Have to confess i have never been a fan of the Ricoh...... was always in the "should never have left Highfield Road" camp.

But i started following City (in person) in 92....... so we've actually been at the Ricoh longer than Highfield Rd for me.....

So can accept it is home for a huge proportion (even a majority) of our fans.......

Today's news is absolutely fantastic.

When did we sell Highfield Rd?

Must be 25 years since we owned any ground

It’s perfect that Coventry Building Society (nee Economic for those who remember) sponsor the stadium too.
it’s all coming together in terms of securing the club for the future.
Those dark days of SISU, shite hangers on sitting in the dug out, text for a sub at half time, sad messages on here of the club moving out of the stadium offices , Cov Council allegiances, Sixfields, fans falling out, Div 4 football, Rugby graphics all over stadium, St Andrews , shite pitch ….are now far behind us
Well done Doug King! 🩵
