I think people would be wise to the fact The Ricoh was available again and therefore the council would be under pressure to properly market it with everyone bidding on the same thing.

Certainly don't think they'd get away with conducting a sale in secret again.

The Coventry public. Even if you hate the football club for some reason as a taxpayer you'd want the best return possible.

cant see it. Why would the Coventry public put the council under pressure for selling the ricoh to someone else again but not put them under pressure for their part in letting ccfc go to birmingham ?

The majority of coventrians don't care enough sadly

Shoot me down in flames and feed me to the dogs if this is a daft question, but just how much will CCFC be paying B'ham to use their ground? It's not going to be a freebie, surely? There will be grounds staff, stewards, ticket people etc that will need paying. Will it be any cheaper than we were paying out at the Ricoh? How does this affect Sisu's income and outgoings?

I’d guess costs are about the same but income will be halved if gates are halved. Plus cash flow wise they have had to pay efl £1m bond.

Absolutely ! Wasps are in critical condition financially and on the verge of going bust. On this occasion SISU are the victims of Wasps sheer stupidity in making unreasonable demands. Be patient and we could well end up owning the Ricoh.

I see this a lot but how do we know their in financial trouble ?

CCFC aren't moving there due to cost though.

SISU won't be paying for it.

Who will be ?. Didn’t we lose money in last set of accounts ?. With less fans and likely to be higher rent, who will be paying ?

We will get an idea when the accounts come out.

Whether SISU inject money or not, it will still be CCFC paying as they will want it back....

Well there was mighty pressure from the public to stop a move away from the Ricoh. The public really showed it mattered there.

No, we'd have been liquidated and expelled from the league - Evans had no money to invest or even keep the ship steady.

I dont get what people expect from saying "sort it out EFL"? So many people saying it all the time, is it just the thing to say?

It's obviously a lack of understanding but it's not just our own fans who bleat on about this. You might disagree but I don't think it's the fans at fault for this lack of understanding. Ironically blaming the EFL again, but it should be their duty really to be transparent about what they can, and cannot do. The EFL do have a tendency to put their head above the parapet on occasion and subsequently give the impression they have more power than they actually possess. It's actually only coming to light now how inept the EFL are and that they're very restricted in what they can do.

But back to my original point, t's not just fans that say "sort it out EFL" either. MPs, club officials, and players have all demanded in the past for EFL intervention during a club crisis. So maybe it is just a thing to say or perhaps the problem doesn't lie with the fans or others but it's actually the EFL fuelling this lack of understanding?

I don't get the argument that sisu would just use the stadium to cream off. The only way they could do that is forcing another of their entities (Otium) into a massive unsustainable loss that they'd have to cover or their accounts wouldn't be signed off. Their best chance of a ROI is selling the football club with stadium ownership attached. I want them to get hold of the Ricoh because it's our best chance of being rid of them.

Using their logic, SISU could charge shed loads of rent and it wouldn't be their fault. As it wasn't the council's fault in any way.

Yep. Agree.

That's why it saddens me that locals go to Wasps games and especially so, City fans who go to Wasps games.

Surely the bond isn't real cash that will affect the club. Only will if we default. A bit like giving your credit card details?

Dhillons brewery saying they were in talks to arrange coach visits from Ricoh/brewery to St Andrews, to help negate some of the financial damage.

They were going on on BBC CW about local businesses being hit by loss of revenue when City aren't at the Ricoh, but also by some gaining by people doing displacement activities (e.g going to the pictures, pub, shopping with the wife :banghead instead of attending the footy.
