Just listened to the EMC interview and think a few are running away with his throwaway comment on the flu a bit.

Torp/MvE have had it recently so wouldn’t be surprised if someone else has picked something up but the way some of you lot are going on you’d think we’ve had to bring Clive Platt back on an emergency short-term deal.

Yeah I thought the same, with how little Lampard gives away pre match I can’t imagine EMC wouldn’t have been told not to mention a flu outbreak.

Haji Will score a few tomorrow, got into good positions past couple games and got close to ending his goal drought, reckon he'll bag two or three

"I know there's a bit of flu going around, but other than that everyone is good" - EMC

Doesn't exactly sound like the black plague has decimated Ryton does it, I'm not too worried.

But given we know George Shepherd is in the squad? We better hope the absentees are through illness and not injury surely

I’m pretty sure about 90% of hospital doctors and nurses don’t take it either.

As a principle, unless you’re immuneo-compromised I don’t think fit and healthy people should be inoculated for common illnesses.

Was struggling to sleep so checked what our opponents today are saying. They have some complementary comments about their GK

They sound very similar to us with the keepers being the main difference. Should be a proper goal fest.

In your ‘personal’ experience as frontline medical staff?

To clarify, the clan of 90% of frontline staff were unvaccinated was at one NHS trust. In that sense, I misrepresented the sample - my bad. Overall, 2024/25 only 37.8%, frontline staff got the flu vaccine.

Yeah lots of nurses are scared of needles too. I’ll tell you what I told them: don’t worry the staff are well trained and if you just tell them you’re scared they’ll be really nice to you.

It's these for me. And remember they paid £10m for him

There is literally no goalkeeper coach in the world who can elevate his game. Not now. This is it, this is the pinnacle. He’s shit and always will be.

He claims 2% of crosses. 2 fucking percent.

When a cross comes into our box does anyone ever think to themselves, that's ok, Bazunu will come and deal with that? There's more chance of a table football goalkeeper on a rod coming to claim a cross than Bazunu.

You don’t see many outright howlers from Baz, but his shot-stopping is genuinely non-league level, and that isn’t hyperbole.

The data backs it up: this is an unheard-of level of sustained underperformance for this level. He has ranked as the worst shot-stopper in every league he’s played in, even when compared with opposition second- and third-choice keepers.

Fucking hell, Warwick Davies would have jumped higher than Baz for that second goal. Weak as piss

When I went in for a hip replacement, when discharged I had to inject myself for a month to prevent blood clots. I hated it! A year later went in for a knee replacement and told the chap just leaving after his op that I wasn't looking forward to the injections. He said tell staff the same as me - I'm needle phobic. It worked! They just gave me a couse of tablets.
One to remember if you get admitted.

I really hope that we play well today and get three points. Four of our next six games are away from home and I don't want us to suffer a loss of momentum, which can often be difficult to regain.

I would normally be more worried than I am, but after seeing how bad their defence is we should score. We're the most attacking side they will have come across all season and are as bad as Dracula for dealing with crosses.

It looks like it will be a goal feast today. We have Rushworth to help us. Will be shooting practice if we play it right. They have a GK that doesn't like coming off his line.

It won't be easy especially as we could have players out with illness, but I can see Lampard setting us up to take advantage of their defensive frailties.

Technically you are right

Was more about who we have to come and how we've played more away with the CBS being a fortress. W8 D2 don't need the L

A few tricky games coming up, although there are few if any easy games - apart perhaps from Sheffield Wednesday - in this division.

I don't know why but I just have a feeling that we might draw quite a few of those games, even though we don't normally draw many. I'd happily take three wins, three draws and one defeat (12 points from 7 games) from those matches but there are a few potential banana skins ahead.
