Firstly for the record it's an absolute tragedy what happened that day, those POOR SOULS who were crushed against the high wall and fencing, they were the ones who got there early.

Those who came later, why didn't they form an orderly queue and go through the turnstiles ?

Those in the tunnel, you said, couldn't turn round, no, but they could've stopped pushing, that's what caused the crushing isn't it ?

I noticed you never responded to my point " why did the Police open them gates "


I'm not trying to open old wounds I'm just looking at it from a neutral perspective of what happened that day.

Mate you don’t seem like a bad fella or actively trying to be disrespectful or anything so I’d just like to politely request you to watch this video and say that a neutral perspective of what happened that day was provided by a literal public enquiry 👍

On the CCTV footage you can quite clearly see the Liverpool fans pouring through the gates.

Did the Police ever say WHY they opened the gates?

You say you originated from Liverpool and have family members living in Liverpool, may I respectfully suggest it's your loyalty to the Liverpool fans that's blinding your judgment.

Out of respect I will leave it there.

Hysel gets swept under the carpet. Never mentioned. For the Juventus supporters it's a tragedy as poignant as Hillsborough was to Liverpool supporters .

The reason they opened the gate was because there was overcrowding outside the turnstiles and there were fears somebody would be crushed outside of the gate never mind inside because the police didn’t put the required queuing and staggering of the crowds in place as they normally would in the narrow bottleneck of the Leppings lane end, as the video explains. The police caused the issue and then opened the gate without dealing with where the people went once they got in and then covered up the fact they did this.

No, it was always that bald headed midfielder who bossed the game for us at home to Swindon, in the most one sided 0-0 ( or 1-1) draw, you will ever see. Forgotten his name, but as soon as I post it will come to me ( ex- Wolves?)

Yes, H, we absolutely battered them from pillar to post for 90(+) minutes (Roy Wegerlie goal?) live on Sky too.
Then in the final minute of added on time they conjured their only attack of the game - Down the right side towards the then building site that would become the East stand and had the audacity to score!
The midfielder I think you refer to was Chris Marsden - How we never signed him permanently is beyond me. (Think he had some off field 'habits'?)

Think we signed him on loan from Man U? But he ended up at Wolves after us.

Anyone else remember the cheesy big band / saxophones version of the Sky Blue Song they used to play over the loudspeakers as the team ran out onto the pitch? 1970's and probably into the 80's as well. Ended with a climactic baam-baam parp-parp 🎷🎷.

I do. It was a kind of lounge jazz version. (If there is such a thing?)

Chris Marsden? I remember that Swindon game, I think they scored in the last minute?

Saw him in a pre-season friendly at Racing Club Warwick. He was unplayable. Would have been an immense player.
