So who's going to be our new manager then? (1 Viewer)

After the first 7 games yes and without Madine.

Worth pointing out, incidentally, that for a manager who makes a big thing about wanting discipline and professionalism in the ranks, he don't half sign some absolute nutters!

I think he means this season after the Yeovil match when we were in the play offs although it was only early on.

I think Paxmans is trying to use Johnsons absence as the reason.

Given his usual optimism I'm surprised he hasn't predicted his usual top six at least by Xmas.

Well I doubt Johnson will be here anyway next season, maybe gone sooner if Pressley finds a replacement with the correct colour urine.

Actually yes I would have stuck with Boothroyd yes. We keep changing managers like the weather. Boothroyd had good form at our level and I'm glad you mentioned him because that's a classic example. SISU have and always will be the major problem. They get into a situation where they need another quick fix....I hope they hold their nerve this time and give the man time. We have nothing to lose at the moment to build for the future.
Those that advocate a change are in hope of a rally and promotion. That would probably bring immediate relegation again. We need to build.

Correct we need to build,However to enable us to due that we need some serious investment in players who will be proud to wear the shirt.
To date we have not had the investment and most of the players are just happy to pick up a pay check.

How much investment have a top 8 side like Rochdale had this season?

I'am not remotely interested in Rochdale or any other Club for that matter. Just to amuse you though,
how much money have table topping Bristol City spent on players this season and what wage are they on.

I wouldn't know, I'd guess a lot more than our players. I do know they sold their top scorer Baldock to Brighton. I do know Swindon, MK Dons, Notts County, Oldham and Rochdale are largely held together by free signings and loans.

Our level of investment is good enough to be a team pushing for the play offs.

The same players...are you sure?

Yeah, I mean this season specifically. We've gone from lofty ambition to nervous glances at the table with the same group of players outside the odd change, so it can't be all working conditions and money.

The only time we have really done any good for a length of time under SP was last season when we had the best strike partnership in division 3. Once we didn't have them both we went into freefall. We have better players than a lot of clubs that we are playing yet struggle to even get shots on target. So what is our problem? Nothing to do with CCC or SISU. It must come down to who chooses the players and formations used. We have been shit for nearly a year now.

And what manager would come here? Many that are out of work. And whoever does come in has a good chance of making a name for themselves. Just like Robins did.

Still thinking about protesting outside fishers kids' school?

At least that would have brought home to him the level of concern that fans felt about the move to Sixfields. Clearly he didn't have sleepless nights about the fate of the club or its fans, so not unreasonable to try to affect him in the way that his actions have affected others.

Anything involving his family would be completely unreasonable.

Plenty of people are calling for SP to go as it will turn our season around apparently but no one is saying who can/would/should replace him and how they're going to save our season.

I'm all ears. Convince me.

Gary Rowett at Blues is a good example that change can be a good thing and I am sure there are others like him. Before anyone says about Pressley had a good spell then please actually show me something positive that he has done at the club that has took us forward.

Overturned a 10point deduction and guided us to safety and even let us believe that a play off place might be in the offing before clarke went and wilson got injured when the truth is a lot of other managers would have bailed.

Is it? There was alot of people singing "there's only one Stephen Pressley" on Saturday.

Where? Didn't hear that, it was like a morgue.

I can't even remember 1 rendition of the sky blues song.

Derek Adams currently unemployed after being sacked by Ross County this season. Took them up 2 divisions and got established in the SPL, had a 40 game unbeaten run under his belt in the process. A much better record than Pressley at the same level and held in much higher regard-still 39 so a lot to prove.

No because it was the players that did that and mainly the ones he didn't sign, if he is that good then what has happened this season? Surely the 10 deduction might go some way as a motivating factor as much as anything else.

As you asked though, I said Gary Rowett as an example of a manager coming in and doing well, with this being the case would you not be willing to take a punt of are you happy with Pressley. I know you hold Sisu ultimately responsible as I do but a new manager is what we also need because Pressley has clearly shown he cannot manage players, come up with systems, change game plans midway through games, sign players, keep the right players, talk sensibly and simply cannot know how to tactically work out how to beat opponents when the other team do it easily. But it's ok though because people think he is a good bloke and they like him and he say's things like "I like the german approach (fucking world champions so no shit Sherlock) and I like to play the pressing game, again how many other managers say that.

The Sky Bkues song was sang plenty of times too. Perhaps with the exception of last 10 minutes.

I think this is over criticism of SP tbf. The trouble with this attitude is that you seem to think a new guy will fair better given our terrible circumstances? Football has enough littered evidence to suggest even the best of them can't do it and have bad times at clubs and better times at others. re we judging our team on the basis of last season's great effort from 10 points down before it all fell apart once the realisation of play offs and Clarke was gone?

So everthing goes right and it aint down to SP but when it goes wrong it is? Genius.

How many games has Gary Rowett been in charge for? Shouldn't you wait and see how the rest of his season pans out before judging him. He could yet prove to be another AT.

I like sp but he needs to learn what attack and entertainment are or he will go because we are too bigger club to play In front of 8k every week I'm a st holder and I won't take another season of this utter dross.

Despite me having a handbag slapfight with tony on page 1, I agree with him absolutely about last season. Pressley did an admirable job despite the late season falter and to claim that was just the players whereas this season is all him is moving the goalposts a little too much to suit an agenda.
