He'd have got us promoted out of this awful division that's for sure. He wouldn't struggle to get results against teams which have budgets half of ours.

He would have fared a lot better as he is a better manager obviously.
What exactly is our budget? because none of it has been spent on buying decent players. I also doubt the young Fergie would have had any more success
with our squad than any other manager.
He was no different to Pressley when he first came to England, a wet behind the ears young recruit.
the major difference being he was able to throw money around like confetti, a luxury that CCFC's managers have not had.

I don't think that with our current owners we can attract any one of a high calibre. If Elvis was replaced we would probably end up with the usual mercenaries looking for one last pay day. Added to this most would want a change of playing staff so Sisu would not want to support this. Elvis has a thankless task, he is always shopping for cast offs, OBrian being the exception. Until you can get the players you want and not what you are given, even if they are in that mould, you are always fighting a loosing battle. It's a change of owner or investment that is needed, then and only then can you judge a manager. It must be a hard job trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear. Building a team needs stability, not short term loans and short journeyman contracts, these players are available for a reason and it's not because their the best at what they do. At least Pressley wants to be here and wants to do right by the club and the fans, it's Sisu that doesn't.

Alex fergusonDidn't he manage and have some success with Aberdeen first ?
The only way you could change things in the short term is by endangering the long term Quick fixes do not work out well.
So you'd have stuck with Andy Thorn then?
Frankly the idea the SP is similar to when Ferguson arrived in England is the most ludicrous thing I've read since it was suggested that Marlon King should play for England or that Andy Thorn is the best manager since Jimmy Hill.
Andy Thorn was always a 'quick fix' gamble was he not?
No Pressley has blown it on players that currently look like overpaid crap (although that may be due to the managers poor tactics)
And if you doubt that Ferguson couldn't have done any better (young or not), then I have nothing else to say to you. It's not worth my time.
Many thanks for correcting my spelling of Gradi, and I'd try either Pampers or Huggies for your Bladder problem. Have a nice eveningPMSL And it's Gradi.
Actually yes I would have stuck with Boothroyd yes. We keep changing managers like the weather. Boothroyd had good form at our level and I'm glad you mentioned him because that's a classic example. SISU have and always will be the major problem. They get into a situation where they need another quick fix....I hope they hold their nerve this time and give the man time. We have nothing to lose at the moment to build for the future.
Those that advocate a change are in hope of a rally and promotion. That would probably bring immediate relegation again. We need to build.

I'm all for the idea of Pressley being given adequate time and all, but the notion that he's doing as well as anyone else possibly could with the same players is ludicrous. We were on the cusp of the top six at one point with the same players who now are flirting with relegation. At some point he has to be responsible for managing a football team regardless of circumstance.
I don't like this new and improved Sky Blue Kid. Can we have the old one back that can't quote and hurls abuse at any given moment. Many thanks for correcting my spelling of Gradi, and I'd try either Pampers or Huggies for your Bladder problem. Have a nice evening

Fergie was a game away from being fired at UTD. A terrible beginning but they let it ride and gave him some time during a period when managers were not such throw away commodities! The rest is history.
SP is the most dedicated and passionate manager around - as seen once again yesterday in the tunnel area being physically held after a bust up with the Walsall player's manset being his main target -he does really care and demands 100%- everyone has an opinion but SP is working with what he has got - changing managers will not solve any problems as i am sure he would be rather working with last years players top of the league and playing in front of 25,000 + than having to manage average players and playing in front of 8,000- is this really his fault
Yes and I would bring him back if SP is sacked.
Both comments by me - the first in error not realising he had ludicrously played for Jamaica. The second is fair enough really.

The same players...are you sure?
