it’s just wrong - it’s a corrupt World Cup purchased with dirty Money. Pretty distasteful.

It doesn't make someone an asshole for attending the games though. Some perspective needed.

Don't be a dick. I don't agree with the World Cup being in Qatar, but no need to have a go at those wanting to follow their country - particularly with what CJ is going through at the moment. Do you show the same disdain for people going on holiday to Dubai? To other countries with pure human rights records? Do you have a list of what/where is allowable and what/where isn't that we can all refer to?

Yeah I agree. Digs at CJ are a little harsh. The World Cup should never have been awarded to Qatar, but is that CJs fault?

No it isn't but somebody who rails against the likes of SISU being involved in football should not really embrace this farce IMHO

Let’s be honest, ethical challenges are everywhere when it comes to spending your hard earned. Apple, Samsung and Nike have all been accused of abhorrent practices…and to be fair the list of other companies is huge.

At the end of the day it’s up to individuals to educate themselves and make the choices they feel comfortable with.

Go back to when Russia and Qatar were awarded the tournaments. The only two bids who the FIFA inspection teams had concerns about were the successful ones. England got turned down on the basis of ‘not enough high speed rail infrastructure’ while Russia with its enormous geography and bigoted laws were waved through. Likewise Qatar where there is no football appetite, more bigoted laws and the small matter of no ability to play in the summer. The stadia that people have died to build will be dismantled after the final. Australia had bid for this too but were told the TV companies wouldn’t like it.

People going to these tournaments aren’t bad people but they are naive if they think it’s still about the beautiful game. As for CJ-let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I know I can’t

Some on here need to have a word with themselves. If someone thinks someone has behaved badly and has evidence, fair enough, but having a go at someone for going to a football match? Next we'll be checking where people have bought their clothes from when attending the CBS, in case a sweat shop was involved, then outing people who paid to go corporate, as they could have sat in the cheap seats and diverted the extra money to the homeless. People in glass houses and all that.

that whole comment can be levelled at anyone with a petrol/diesel car. The economy is propped up by oil sales far more than a football tournament

Some shocking stuff on here…. For commenting on a forum peoples life’s could have been fooked up.
I’m also getting the feeling that £2 membership isn’t particularly good value.

The most frightening thing about opening that thread was seeing the Binley Mega Chippy picture on two photos down. Can't fucking get away from it.

That is a massive false equivalence. We can’t control where products that we need for daily life come from. We can however chose whether or not to visit these countries and directly hand over money to the regime.

Not really. There’s the choice to use public transport, or buy an electric vehicle.

CJs financial input in Qatar will be minuscule compared to any other funding they receive. Russias LGBT laws are shocking but there was no calls for people being subhuman for going there.

the only people who are to blame for this are FIFA, and the moral duty is on them. Not the people going out to support their team

Personally I think we need full details and names of those on the Trust board that did these shocking acts to fellow sky blue fans and their careers. It is disgusting and they must be called out to make sure they never get involved with the club or supporters ever again, including anyone on the board who encouraged or turned a blind eye to it. Sorry CJ you come across as a top fella but you or someone else who can be trusted need at some point to put in black and white what happened and who was responsible. Their behaviour teetered on the brink of criminality and needs to be called out.

You’ve seen on this thread already “we’ve been through this”, “I’ve answered your questions”, “I have other things going on”.

They will do anything other than admit to it and apologise.

Yes I have but that's very sad if the key individuals do not provide information, £ still feel establishing a list of the SBT 'wrong uns' is vital to the club and its supporters moving forward.
