Absolutely zero co-incidence whatsoever in my eyes that this argument has come about now you have got American's funnelling money into two of the divisions clubs I might addI can't see the appetite for it really. Does mean less dead-rubbers when 12th v 13th still matters a few weeks out, but we already have a huge gap between Champ and Prem and I can't see how this helps and can only assume there's a financial benefit.
Safety net for parachute teams and those mugs at Blues and Wrexham.Absolutely zero co-incidence whatsoever in my eyes that this argument has come about now you have got American's funnelling money into two of the divisions clubs I might add
I've attempted to write two posts but this is the takeaway put simply. It's the Americanisation of sport - Dead rubbers are fine, if you want your matches to matter then fucking win more in the majority of the season.

tbh I'd quite happily go back to 3 up, 3 down but there's zero chance of that happening. It's the Americanisation of sport - Dead rubbers are fine, if you want your matches to matter then fucking win more in the majority of the season.

I'm just plucking out of the air but the feels say around 3possibly here.tbh I'd quite happily go back to 3 up, 3 down but there's zero chance of that happening.
In reality how many dead games are there with the present system? Can't be that many games where neither team has anything left to play for.
Would that reduce the parachute payments to say half distribution?I personally think that the bottom two and top two of exch division should be auto promoted and relegated and then places 3 and 4 from the top and bottom of adjoining leagues should play each other to see who goes up and who gets relegated
Self serving owners. No one is asking for this and it’s not fair for a team which finished 3rd to lose out on promotion to a team in 8th.
Nonsense
Didn’t they do something similar at one time?I personally think that the bottom two and top two of exch division should be auto promoted and relegated and then places 3 and 4 from the top and bottom of adjoining leagues should play each other to see who goes up and who gets relegated
My only gripe would be that we should do it this year regardless of autos. If we don't get promoted this season then it's a good thing for us
But it's also not fair a team finishing 3rd loses out on promotion to a team in 6th. Why is 6th acceptable but 8th is nonsense? We've had instances where teams with over 80 points have lost out to teams with 60-odd. 20 point difference over a season and the team with the lower total gets promotion. It's nothing to do with fairness, everything to do with adding more games and revenue.Self serving owners. No one is asking for this and it’s not fair for a team which finished 3rd to lose out on promotion to a team in 8th.
Nonsense
As it stands 12th and 13th have. A great chance of play offs this season.I can't see the appetite for it really. Does mean less dead-rubbers when 12th v 13th still matters a few weeks out, but we already have a huge gap between Champ and Prem and I can't see how this helps and can only assume there's a financial benefit.
Give it enough american ownership and we'll soon be heading for post season playoffs for the 1st and 2nd place too...
Imagine the football regulator would have a word about that.Or wait for the American owned clubs to get to the Premier League and then close the league and end relegations
Just a PR exercise to serve the interests of the richest and most powerful clubs.Imagine the football regulator would have a word about that.
What’s going on with them anyway?
The Birmingham owners will be the first to suggest this...if they're ever promoted.Or wait for the American owned clubs to get to the Premier League and then close the league and end relegations
They do, but it's February. I would expect them too at this stage. In fact teams much lower down could still make it.As it stands 12th and 13th have. A great chance of play offs this season.
