No I think you will find it has been on at Franklins Gardens and Welford Road (two local grounds) for years, as well as great local Rugby at Coventry's very own team, you know the one with Coventry in its name, so long in fact that the time frame includes all of Wasps endless ground moves.

Yes but like our football team it has been a long time since they were classed as big time, fuck sake we are both in the Third division due to unscrupulous owners!

Don't get me wrong as an ex rugby player I have a soft spot for CRFC.

Coventry don't yet play top class rugby.
How is Northampton and Leicester local? The 20 minute walk to Ricoh for me is local.

Compared to Liverpool or Manchester they're local.

The same way Southampton and Brighton are local to me.

I have decided to buy Northampton to make sure that SISU can't. I can afford to pay in cash.

Has anyone got change of a fiver?

Don't agree. Maybe combined, but not per club.

I dont live near you thank god, so both NOrthampton and Leicester are as local to me as the Ricoh. Of course when we played Leicester away I am sure you called it a local derby, its just when it suits your arguement they are not local. As usual you just move the goalposts to spout your rhetoric.

Perhaps if more bandwagoners like you had supported Coventry Rugby Club in the first place the extra income could have supported a team to move up the leagues. But hey why not parachute a team in from London, now thats a real local club.

Apparently the workers have downed tools, all sorts of rumours going around including the obvious ones like the money has run out to the foundations won't support the stand to a bizzare there were never any plans drawn up!

Seems Cardoza gave the contract to manage the project to one of his mates who has no building experience and its predictably gone horribly wrong.

You don't know much about cov do you it wouldn't have made any difference if thousands more had supported the club they would have still been where they are now.

Got it ....

Destroying a teams history and fanbase in an attempt get an asset for nothing ?
Cementing a teams history and increasing it's fanbase whilst purchasing an asset at market value ?

Nice to be the other way round, but it isn't, get over it.

Move a team for a year - destroy the fanbase
Move a team permanently - cement the fanbase.

You couldn't make this shit up if you tried.

The similarity in both cases is that financial motive was behind both actions. Yet one you decry and the other you openly support.

PS. Also well done for supporting a club that ripped off a charity... a kids one at that.

Sisu should have made an offer instead of expecting it for nothing.

Higgs didn't have to sell.

It's well published that Sisu said the Higgs share was worth nothing but because they were a charity they offered £2M.
Why do you think Sisu took us to Northampton ??
Do you really need to keep ignoring Sisu's miscalculation on the whole affair as it gets very tedious?

So they wanted it for £2 million then as that was the offer, rather than the offer being £0?

Tedius? Have a word with yourself and read some of the shite you post.

Yes they should - but that doesn't excuse the Wasps situation does it?

The council didn't have to sell either did they? ACL was highly successful and didn't even need the football club?

Oh wait a second.............

Your confusing yourself.
We now know that ACL was running at a loss and that talk of it being successful was just a counter bluff to Sisu's silly games.

The questions you need to ask yourself is would Sisu have bought into ACL if Wasps had moved on or would they have started the hostile take over tactics again ? Could CCC take the chance?

There's only you, Grendel and a couple of others that can't actually say Sisu messed up in trying to drive the value down.
Would you took a chance that one day Sisu would buy into ACL and ignore the Wasps bid. Didn't TF say he wouldn't have paid what Wasps paid ?
Move on FFS it's getting boring. I only wish Sisu would..

Clearly they did have to sell. The real question and the one some posters keep ignoring is why weren't SISU buying?

They are the same.
It depends on how bias you are against the council how you refer to it

They said it was worth nothing. But they did offer Higgs 1m IIRC as they are a charity. No negotiations no nothing.

Could the same be said if one person does it and it's lies, another and it's bluffing?

Much prefer to say they are all full of it surely?

They are both fighting their corner the best way they can.
ACL and perhaps later the stadium freehold was up for grabs.
Sisu used our club as the stake and would have won eventually being the only possible users of the stadium.
If you look at it as a CCFC fan you might think that's tough on the council but CCC are answerable to the ratepayers and once Wasps came in it was a foregone conclusion.
Any other owners than Sisu and the council may have waited.
