This is football, which seems to have its own rules away from real life. How many months did Pompey not pay its bills for last season?

Without A lower rent SISU will not even enter in talks with TF regarding the budget as that is the key part of supporting the club next season... We are at a very important time for the club as if SISU dont get there way they have the reason and the blame they need to walk away while trying to keep a certain business name intact... Most are falling for Joys BS and TF lies about caring for the common fan, this is the end game and news will be coming soon regards to all im sure...

and many on here seem to be surprised that the rent for this month has not been paid when negotitations are taking place regarding the costings of the RICOH. I agree that the club hangs in a precarious place, why else would they send Queen SISU in for talks.

God I'm bored of this sh1t

Turn out the lights and start again...

The championship wasn't as "fun" as richardson would have us believe

We won't do anything in this division either without investment

Let's start again and support a club which reminds us why we are so passionate in the 1st place.

At the moment, ccfc isn't our club, it's sisus.

Time to get our club back, I encourage the council to hold tight.

"we do not negotiate" would be the response for reduced council tax, rent etc from any of us, sisu and their millions should be no different.

why would they pay it if they're trying to negotiate a better fee? makes sense to me

Makes no sense at all that. As has been said, it is on breach of contract. That is not the way to negotiate.

If you wanted to get better rent terms on a flat, you wouldn't achieve it by withholding it-the landlord would chuck you out unless he was being extremely generous or stupid.

Not the same.... The landlord knows he just gets another tenant. If CCFC move out the stadium no one else will move in. SISU know this and I guess have requested a reduction on the rent so they can break even in Division 1. ACL have said no and therefore SISU have to raise the stakes. I would say that SISU need to pay up to when last season finishes and the new rate applies for next season.

money made from concerts, confrences and other revenue makes ccfc less needy

what youve got to remember , most revenue generated at the ricoh isnt from the footballing side , hence whjy the council can do this

id rather play at the butts arena. Use the 100k a month rent to build two sizeable stands and use there.

much better atmosphere then the ricoh

You're right italia, Sisu hold a lot of the cards. The Ricoh is a football stadium and won't be viable without a football club playing in it so Ricoh themselves surely won't sponsor the stadium without the club in it. CCFC/Sisu could drag ACL and the council down with them. What a total shambles.

As others have stated, the Ricoh is an internationally renowned venue because of ACL, not because we play there. There would be an initial hit on the revenue to ACL of course, but in time the stadium part of the arena would be replaced with something else-they would find a way.

John Mutton is a Coventry City fan since a kid, so why would he see us homeless?

I think people are making an overly big deal over this.

Yesterday we were holding back the rent, another day comes and we still are. Nothing has changed apart from the fact we now owe 2 months.

Calm down dear, it's only a commercial dispute.

Obviously, which is why he was raving in the press. Is there an election soon?

And if they didn't give permission about investment in a new venture for the city then they really don't. Give a shit about CCFC IMO

Because right now they are in breach of contract which means they have no ground which means they have no business and technically the club could be seen as out of business .... it is only the goodwill of ACL that is allowing them to be there and that they continue

Which is the plan, I do fear!

I'm still amazed at how some blame the council for all this!

In 2003 CCFC BEGGED the council to build them the Ricoh under the current deal (this was a very big risk the council was taking on and would have preferred not too).

In 2007 Sisu bought the club knowing full well what the rent was and at no point until now have they suggested it as being a problem. They should have been talking to the council about it from day 1 if it was.

This idea that some have come out with on here that we shouldn't pay during the summer because we don't play then. We pay £1.2m a year spread out over 12 months. I'm sure if we wanted to spread the £1.2m out over the 9 months of the football season ACL would be happy to oblige.

Sisu are showing themselves in their true colours, as financial terrorists. After not getting what they want through legal and peaceful means they are now using force and bully boy tactics.

Anyone who thinks Sisu are correct in doing this loses all right to ever criticise the council for lack of spending on roads, schools, elderly care etc, as you have legitimised the council giving public money to a hedge fund.

The point is, they are trying to engineer better terms by withholding an agreed sum, this shows sisu have no business ethics and are a bunch of financial cowboys. Im a landlord, if my tenants wilfullly refuse to meet their financial obligation to me ie: the rent i would instigate an eviction order. This is a desperate ploy and has ramifications and consequences for the landlords aswell,im sure they have financial obligations to meet also. I bet if the individual clowns known as sisu, rented a property out and their tenants refused to cough up, they would resort to law like a flash, rightly so.

Bottom line is that ACL/Council have a duty to the Cov taxpayer.

Approx 8000 fans from Coventry attend CCFC games, so is that reflective of a city of 320k+? Ok, some don't go but still love the club, but the question here is simple;

  • If ACL/Council reduce the rent will this go to support the club or into SISU coffers?
If it is the latter, despite what we think of CCFC, this is a no-brainer....in fact, SISU have a fooking nerve, as now they are taking the pish out of ordinary Cov taxpayers who have nothing to do with the club.

This action by SISU is an afront to the WHOLE OF THE CITY OF COVENTRY, not just the football club.

As an aside, Joy Seppala's comments of supporting the community etc were the ultimate insult....she really have a nerve.

Your support of SISU - both past, and now present - is really becoming an embarrassement, mate.

I suggest that you think before you post such drivel - or don't post at all.

What will it take for you to realise that SISU are raping the club...and now the city????!!!

Do you live in Cov? No.

So how can you speak for the Cov taxpayer???? :thinking about:

(I'm now waiting for the notice that I am banned.....:slap

Not strictly true, mate.

As a car salesman, I can tell you that once you have paid 50.1% of the finance owed, you can return the car with no comeback.

You really just proved his point with that post. The bluster is all well and good, but what is your preferred outcome to this situation?

ACL/Council have to call SISU's bluff...simple as that.

Their current stance is simply unaccpetable.

They must show their resources, accounts, business plans and intentions for our club before they make any demands of their own.

Do you honestly believe that they have earned any right to command such a position and make such threats....previously to the loyal CCFC fans, and now, the ultimate insult, to the good folk of Coventry????:thinking about:

In that case there should be no concessions to them whatsoever.

As for our club...well we were in the shit in 2007 when these lot came in, we'll just have to get by again...if it means administration, that is where we wre heading then....and we'll just have to reap what has been sown.
