Another player proving what happens when you buy in to what Lampard and his staff are offering, and with Wright out for a few weeks, it’s very welcome.

He jumped for a goal scoring header yesterday in the first half and seemed to close his eyes like a schoolboy

Live I thought he must have been put off by the defenders jump but the more I see it he doesn’t look to meet the with his forehead but rather looks down and lets the ball roll off him. V strange compared to the header he scored

As a minimum we’ve got sakamoto, Rudoni, BTA, Simms, Mason Clark in and around the starting line up (presume wrights not available), most clubs in this league would give their right arm for that. All won’t start. Depending on recovery, wouldn’t be surprised to see Rudoni and BTA start on bench again
Simms is the only striker though

As I say I'm glad he scored. If he'd been taken off without he'd have had very little to show for the game.

Don't agree with that, thought he'd played well up to then.
Misplaced a couple of balls early in the first half one of which a professional really shouldn't have but other than that thought he was decent.

Just to throw in a talking point, watche'd a bit of the Sheffield Derby, and based on that would Ì have taken Bamford, definitely, (though obviously I don't know what that would have entailed financially etc).

Simms first goal at the arena since luton ?

I am often disappointed by Simms contribution but he looked on it yesterday and up for the challenge. If he can keep this up then he will be difficult to drop.
Stats prove and back up what we are witnessing with the eye.

That was just his 2nd start this season.

Uts great competition and Simms great to see under pressure took his chance. Hes a handfull.

Yeah i thought that watching Bamford...he looked sharp..decent touches. His lack of pace and fitmess woukd be a major issue.

Caveat...he was playing against the worst team in championship history who were dead and buried.

I mean even Tom Cannon looked good. Lol

Simms is an absolute handfull when hes on it. And the only one of our 3 strikers who love running in behind.

He’s scored quite a few of these glancing headers to be fair.
Underated the goal..he was switched on and got perfectly between their centre backs.

Thank fuck he didnt miss it as if it went through to mason ckarked he wpukd have been offside for 10th time in the match (so infuriating).

Simms actually is very rarely offside considering he makes and looks for more balls over the top compared to Haji/EMc and Asante.
