I wonder if Lampard would be tempted to shift Sakamoto inside and use KKH out wide. Keep the same formation and in reality it's only Sakamoto not used to his role. EMC was an unused sub on Wednesday, so could even stick him back on the left and move BTA inside. EMC has only missed 2 weeks so should be fit enough to do his 60 mins role. Not sure we necessarily need a change in formation tomorrow.

To be fair Torp has history of niggly injuries, Eccles is just coming back from a fairly big one. It was naive for people to think they wouldnt be out for a portion of the season.
The reality is you can’t predict who will be out, for how long, and in what positions.

Every team has injuries long and short term. You need a bit of luck. We have good levels of ability and versatility in our squad.

It’s naive of people to think you can have a squad bigger than 25 senior players. Also loans under the age of 21 count as one of the 25 senior players.

It is what it is unless you are a Premier League top dog with an Academy overflowing with under 21 talent.

You can a bit. Injuries is going to be a product of number of explosive sprints and general distance run. Your forwards and full backs and box to box mids are going to be most affected. That’s why people said we needed at least one if not two forwards in. Ideally we’d be subbing 2-3 off on 70 mins most games to minimise injury risk a freshness at the tail end of the season.

You still need versatility in the squad with players who can cover different positions. Fans might not like it but managers know it is essential. Two in each position is 22 the max squad of senior players is 25. That gives you 3 spare. It is very feasible that your two first choice right fullbacks for example are injured at the same time. So where do you go from there. Players who give you flexibility are key. Squad depth comes from that flexibility within the squad and not necessarily numbers.

Whatever team we put out we’ll still have enough to beat these, might struggle against the better teams but confident of a good win, looks a lovely day for it

We had more than enough to beat Bolton but didn’t. Teams can show tremendous resilience when they are backed into a corner.

Sheffield Wednesday may be near the bottom but have picked up some decent results. This is a tough fixture. The crowd will be vociferous and we will need to be at our best over the full 90 minutes.

Shit weather. Real leveller.
Not sure we can keep our high pressure press when we are knackered.
Injuries a worry especially if EMC is not 100%, Torp and Eccles are out.
Wednesday have really surprised me, I thought they would be getting results like Sheff Utd.
Shame we are playing them before their injuries and suspensions kick in when they are playing with a siege mentality.

Bookies have us long odds on favourites tomorrow, they don't usually get it wrong too often
We should have more than enough for these , squad is confident and firing now it's time to see how Frank adapts to a few injury niggles .
Think 3-0 win
