Not for me, always Leicester!Villa are our rivals.
Been other threads on this.
It's just their fans and board level strategies have caused how can I say 'some disagreements'. They were never really rivals in 60-90s.

They did the same last season - then proceeded to kick us off the park. Beware of compliments from Wilder!Just watched the SUFC press conference that popped up on YouTube, he’s speaks really complimentary about Coventry and Lampard .. fair play .
Excited about tonight
Maybe it's an age thing. I don't know how old you are obviously but for me, watching as a kid in the late 80s and 90s I always think of Villa as the ral rivals. We didn't play Leoicester for years after I started watching Cov, we played Villa a lot and always lost which made us all hate them even more. Not for me, always Leicester!
Villa regard us as a rival about as much as Sheff Utd do ffs.Villa are our rivals.

Villa and Blues are rivals. Us cracking on at Villa is like Leicester cracking on at Forest.Villa are our rivals.

Can I add 3) they are always a team of thugs who go out to injure players and get away with it Lemeiras foul being the best example. To any Blades lurkers, I'd say it's not so much we don't like you it's a couple of things 1) you were bellends when we were in the shit 2) Some of our fans had a weird love in with your neighbours, that was until most realised they are a bunch of racist cockwombles.

I suppose where you live would also make a difference, I didn't live near Cov so that didn't come into it for me.

Wilder doesn’t have a standard Sheffield accent. His sounds like a weird mix of generic south east, with a little bit of Yorkshire thrown in. Can’t work it out. I’ve met loads of people from Sheffield and even lived there a few years. Never heard anyone speak like him.The Sheffield accent is quite funny really, it isn't the same as the rest of Yorkshire.
What’s a loss?And a loss?
Wilder himself in these press conferences usually comes across very reasonable. Then he goes instructing his teams to kick lumps out of the opposition and starts scraps at full time whenever they lose. Can I add 3) they are always a team of thugs who go out to injure players and get away with it Lemeiras foul being the best example.
I had stuff thrown at me from the fucking bridge near Villa Park the relegation game so forgive but I'll sing about shitting on them and put them in a bonfire as much as I want. Why do we have to have rivals
Villa don't give a damn about us plus why would be rivals to a team we haven't played in over 20 years
Most of the younger fans and i mean up to 30 years of age have probably never seen us play Villa
it embarrassing how some of our fans chant about SOTV when they have never been to a villa cov game
It's part of football culture to have rivals, every club in every sport has them. It's what makes football great when you play a rival. Why do we have to have rivals

Nobody liked playing Warnock teams either but again the man himself was pretty likeable.

Keep reading this on here today. Is there a bit of rose tinted revisionism going on?
I remember the bloke being an absolute bell end.

Think it's kind of a nostalgia or a don't appreciate it til its gone kinda thing rather than revisionism. I always thought he was a bell but he was kind of a panto villain and was pretty funny at times too. Wilder is never funny, although he speaks well about Super Frank so he gets some points for that.Keep reading this on here today. Is there a bit of rose tinted revisionism going on?

Warnock's actually a character though and always has been.
Wilder has zero personality and constantly just comes across as angry and bitter, with a massive chip on his shoulder.
You can tell he's as much of a prick in the dugout as he is in his personal life.
Agree. Warnock has a sense of humour and has some humility. Wilder is an arrogant drunk with no class whatsoever
I think he can often come across as self-important and lacking a bit of awareness.
He's sort of like Warnock in that he sees himself as 'plain speaking', but he's pretty charmless, whereas Warnock, for all his posturing, came across as having a certain warmth to him, and also didn't appear to take himself too seriously.
As for Sheffield United's fanbase, their attitude to the SISU protests sticks in the craw; it's a bit of a theme with football supporters that when a club is genuinely being screwed, that there is solidarity from other support bases. There was the exact opposite from them.
I looked on the BBC site head-to head, obviously not accurateAccording to 11 vs 11 which is accurate we're currently level.

How much of a loss is Kalvin Phillips to them tonight? I have no idea if he was lacking in match fitness anyway.
Reidewald will come in i think. Pretty sure he's been decent so Phillips is no loss. From what I've seen, not much of a loss.
Missus cancelled?Got a spare under 18’s ticket for tomorrow £15
Anybody nervous?
Exactly. Pantomime villain is exactly how Warnock played it. Wilder comes across as an intense, charmless prick. All the guff in that press conference is classic pissing up our arses before a big game.Think it's kind of a nostalgia or a don't appreciate it til its gone kinda thing rather than revisionism. I always thought he was a bell but he was kind of a panto villain and was pretty funny at times too.
Have you not noticed the 'quality' of the officials and how many bad tackles on Saka goes unnoticed?Really dont see the logic in resting Tats in the game. It make zero sense, unless you are thinking we should just roll over because they might kick him.
It a professional game with professional officials. If they do it, then they are very likely to be punished for it. Let them do it. There's nothing to be scared of in terms of over aggression.
