Firstly i'd like to say i've been following these forums for a while, but have only just made a profile to post about the poor manner in which the club sold the final few Tottenham tickets.

Being a 17 year old, i couldn't afford a season ticket back in July, but I turn up to every home game I can, not wanting to miss the Spurs can i decide to get to the ground early on the day of general release. So, 8am this morning I turn up to the ground, a big line has already formed of 100 people or so, time passes and the queue ends up with about 200 people in it.

It hits 9am, and the ticket office opens, within 15 minutes, one of the club staff comes out telling everyone who is in the queue that there isn't any tickets left. Understandably, everyone was rather frustrated that they had been out in the cold for an hour only for the tickets they wanted to buy be sold to people who have sat at home and bought them online or on the phone.

I just think it's stupid that people can queue, take time off work, time out of school to try and get the tickets, only for them to be sold to half-arsed people who won't even turn up to the ticket office. Mini-rant over.

Waiting for my pigeon to get back with my tickets, sent it off last night with the cash to the ticket office.

Far more reliable than the Stagecoach, keeps getting held up by highwaymen.

ccfc ben - also if youd have paid on direct debit you would have saved a lot of money - at 17 i guess you may be a school boy, as you have made 2 schoolboy errors

I live 50 miles from Cov so brought mine online. I feel for people who queued but it's a no-brainer to buy them online and open to everyone, not some mystical elite.

If i'm not mistaken you would need a credit/debit card for that, neither of which I have. I'm surprised they didn't do a thing about showing stubs to previous games before general sale, another flaw on the clubs part in my opinion.

i udnerstand your frustrations but it isnt anyones fault, i suppose club could have put general sale ONLY at ticket office but maybe next time

p.s i have sky blue membership and bought 4 tickets online this morning whilst browsing the bbc gossip pages and porn

i dont want them so they are yours for just £100 each

I feel for you as you have made the effort to go and queue up and stuff, but unfortunately there's not much you can do.

Hopefully you get a ticket for Wembley when we get there ;)

Yeah i wouldn't have been bothered as much if 5k ST holders were going, its just frustrating knowing that some people such as myself won't be able to go. Atleast i know for next time now i suppose.

I bought mine at 8:15 this morning online. Was pretty surprised it let me tbh must have opened ounce before the shop

What about parents/guardians? Haven't they got a card you could've borrowed and paid them back cash? Doesn't have to be yours, so long their card details were right...

Should've got a membership then - or a ST, I was 17 when I got mine.

As previously mentioned... Internet or phone in is a much better way of getting a ticket.

Bit harsh to say that the 'service is a joke'; with so many different ways of obtaining tickets there's always going to be losers along the line; I dare say that there's a few who tried on-line but were unsuccesful, plus not everyone has the option/time to go and queue up for tickets.

I have some sympathy for Ben, but this debacle has been going on for years. Non worse than when we actually got to the Cup Final in 87 and the club panicked and sold the tickets a day early to any old Charlie with a collection of stubs and a begging bowl. Some f@ckers were walking away with 25 tickets and selling them round the corner for ten times face value. You'll get a ticket Ben, just be patient, there will be tickets available over the next couple of weeks as people have issues that prevent them from attending. Keep your eye skinned on here and other fansites.

Thats everyones choice of course but you can't complain about missing out on something because you don't have one when they are easy to get and pretty vital really.

Unless you don't have any sense and any willpower you should be getting a credit card at 18 too and setting up a direct debit to pay it off. Only spend what you have. You will build your credit rating, get cash back or tesco points depending on the card you chose and get the protection that buying with a credit card provides you.

Couldn't fault the service for mine to be fair, got straight through on the phone at 9:30 am, was done in a matter of a minute or so, birdy on the phone was very helpful. It took me longer on the phone today to exchange two of my Flexi tickets for Shrewsbury tickets, kept me on hold for about 15mins

I think the way it works is that a set amount of tickets are reserved for online and phone sales and the rest are kept in-store. I say this because when I've purchased away tickets in the store they are just sitting on a desk ready to hand out and they don't seem to log on a computer specifically which seats they have given out in-store. Also when you buy online there are blocks greyed out which I think are the ones reserved for in-store sales only (which sometimes later become available for smaller games if in-store sales aren't doing great / or as well as online.) I can only imagine the case today was that most people buying tickets during the priority sale were buying them in-store (I think a few ST holders have said somewhere they had to queue for a couple of hours even during priority) meaning there were hardly any / next to no tickets available in-store on general sale day with the majority being held online and the online system was probably too clogged up for them to pull them off there to sell in-store. For a big game like this I'd choose online every time, I've never had to queue a long time for tickets and it's totally worth the 90p postage IMO. I also don't see it as a half-arsed option, just the sensible one if you have the means.

Although they stated they went on sale at 9am..I bought 3 tickets at 5 past midnight online and picked them up this afternoon:D
