Just browsing other prices and interested to see that Sunderland don't allow kids in their 'Singing area' and from what I can see, all other clubs have over 65s and not over 60s.

I can't find any even close to being as cheap as £250 and £50 for a kid either.

My issue isn’t price. It will cost be a fair bit more. But they’ve closed the block I’m in to season tickets. We are there specifically because it’s where my dad chose. He has anxiety and mobility issues and now he’s said he won’t be going next season.

ok we get it, you'd defend it even if everyone had to give doug a reach around before being allowed to purchase a season ticket

but in the real world it's got a lot shitter for a lot of people

But they’ll reopen it to season tickets as soon as they have a handle on how big the Family zone needs to be. So if you’re in 25,26,27 I’m guessing you should be ok. If near the currently designated family zone it could be a problem as that will probably expand

Haha!

I'm seeing both sides. I get the anger about moving but am equally baffled people are shouting from the rooftops that you can sit behind a goal for £250 in the Championship/PL.

you aren't getting it lad, it's gone so far over your head

most kids won't want to move so their parents will have to decide to fork out loads more or knock it on the head

Even with that, the club are offering a season ticket for £250 for an adult. Is there a cheaper adult season ticket in the top 3 divisions, including family zones?

I bet 80% of the kids aren't bothered as long as they still get to go.

Exactly.

Surely a kid would rather go and sit behind the goal than not go at all.

Maybe the kid could ask for the home and away shirt with the £100 their parent is saving on a season ticket too

I'm not even talking about the whole point.

I'm asking, is there a cheaper season ticket in the league at £250 and why is no one mentioning it.

Must be one of our cheapest ever after Sixfields. Even in Birmingham it was £260.

It's clearly a move to make it unaffordable for teens in the corner. Possibly to clamp down on anti-social behaviour.

By doing that though the atmosphere in the corner will dramatically be reduced

I can imagine the response I'd have got when I was a kid if I'd said to my Dad I didn't want to go in the part of the stadium where a season ticket would cost £100, I wanted to go where it was £300

I’m made up after the rumours. £350 for my lad and me is unbelievable value,
Looks like loads of sales on the map already unless I’m looking at it wrong

I’m in Block 20 so had the big price increase. I think it’s over the top with the cost of living crisis and it being close to a 250 mile round trip for me. Going to the games is really the only time I get to spend with my son (He’s 28 and has a life) so have paid for the Premiership package. What’s another £20 after they have already hit me for £130.

I have sponsored 2 players shirts for the last few season but this will have to stop now as it’s all getting too expensive.

Overall feeling a bit let down and think there will be less season tickets sold. I also think there will be loads of people in the family section without kids.

Just a radical throught, how about those teenagers make some noise in the family zone? If its promoted right in all the big local secondary schools the family zone could develop a decent identity. There are plenty of stadiums where there is significant noise generated by fans who seemingly dont need to simultaneously flip the bird at an away fan.

I messaged my 13 year old earlier and told him we would be moving to the family zone behind the goal (currently sit in 20) and he responded with “I would rather sit there than not go”. I don’t think kids care where they sit.

I’m sure it will be sorted either way eventually. But ‘probably’ this block or that block ‘at some time or another’ doesn’t cut it for my dad.

The kids ticket side of it, happy to pay more, should be more anyway and my lad will sit anywhere. Going to work on getting my dad back round block 15 I reckon.

(Block 29 now btw)

If they register an under 14 they can get a season ticket for £300. They will do that and mysteriously be in there without the kid, sitting with their mates.

Not sure the logic works on that. We're being told kids will refuse to sit there and go where the tickets are more expensive as they don't want to sit in a section full of kids but a load of adults without kids will go to the trouble of registering a kid and buying a ticket for them so they can go and sit in the same area people are saying will be shit and nobody will want to go in

Having spent a season sat behind a 2 Dads with their sons I can't think of anything worse

Yep, seriously pissed off. Have perfect seats behind the goal above the steps where 10 of us sit across 2 rows and have done for the past 2 years. Prices are fine, personal annoyance but sure others will be in the same boat.

I’d make representations to the club and ask why

Well bring the prices up gradually, the issue is the jump in costs that people who take their kids etc as many have said it this thread have pointed out.

It's a proper shambles

it will be the same people using JSB tickets to get in now. Think they are clever getting a season ticket for £100 cheaper.

It’s not, and could be a great atmosphere but the area could be too small, we have see a real resurgence these last few years with children and families attending, once hooked like so many are now, they are the future full paying adults so I think the area should be expanded to deal with the capacity required, if not, then that is a real financial penalty on some families.

But saying to my 2 kids we're moving from block 16 to a family section at the opposite end of the ground will have a hugely negative impact on their matchday experience. Don't mind paying a small premium for staying where we are, but it's a huge difference.

We'll end up paying the extra, but two mates of my son who came with us this season won't be able to next season as their parents won't pay the extra.

People can defend these prices if they like, but I hope those same people don't moan when crowds fall.

Great. But conversations I’ve already had with friends is about waiting for the demand to be confirmed to end up nearer the middle. Back where we were. Could end up stifling demand.

Could but I think the tickets will sell very very quickly and once the other blocks are opened people will be able to move them and will
