Rushworth or Wilson (2 Viewers)

Keepers are a strange one as you essentially need 1x excellent GK and either 1x average GK happy to sit on the bench until needed or 1x excellent GK that is happy to fight for the no 1 spot or happy to sit on the bench. There's not many that fit the latter category

Viktor Johansson was available last season which was an achievable transfer but he fits into the 1x excellent GK category and not sure he would've suited; he wants no 1 all the time and he's doing well at Stoke at the moment

From what I've seen I'm not convinced by Rushworth but Wilson is no better. Looking forward to when Dovin is back!

Aled had all the badges.
Russel Slade had all the badges.

Cech has all the trophies.

Do we need someone who can measure progressive passing stats and nutrition intake or whatever they give badges for or do have enough of them and need a coach on the team who goalies will look up to, knows how to set up a wall, where to stand for corners, when to come for crosses and who might just be in Frank’s contact list.

Just saying….,,

What about someone really tall? Someone with a playing background in the local area perhaps. Doesn’t have to be a keeper.

That the best you can do?
Yes, I happened to (about 5 years ago) question the wisdom of spaffing a big chunk of our minuscule wage budget on a 33 year old Waghorn when we didn’t need that type of player.

It turns out we wasted a big wad of money on him.

I’ll own being correct there.

Instead I suggested a minuscule fraction on a big local lad who the signed for a higher placed champ side, got an assist against us but then didn’t make it but at least did t cost the earth.

I liked the idea of a big lunk being used to get on the end of Hamer crosses in the last 10 mins (if he could be coached blah blah blah)

It didn’t work out.

But I’ll maintain I was right. We spent about a million quid on Waghorn.

So if you are trying to be a smart ass to cover the fact you haven’t got a better retort then go you.

You are so very smart.

The first goes straight through the gap in the wall past Torp as well, looking at the extended highlights. There shouldn't be a gap in the wall and that's Rushworth's problem!

Didn't mention the first goal! Not so sure it went through a gap in the wall as you say but it did go close to Torp who wasn't in the wall. The ball did swerve a bit and wasn't an easy save, but having got to it he might be disappointed to have not pushed the ball out wider. It was a bit unlucky however that the ball fell so kindly to the Oxford scorer.

The second goal however was extremely poor. Having the wall so poorly positioned and turning his back so he didn't spot Brannagan moving the ball was schoolboy stuff.

No, I realise that I was just reinforcing your point.

If Rushworth left a gap to Torp deliberately that meant he was expecting to save exactly where the ball ended up. Either way it's on him!

Hoping this is just a blip on Rushworth's part and that he will prove to be the keeper we'd hoped for when he signed. If this form continues though I can see us curtailing his loan in January if we are able and looking for an alternative. Apt for a keeper, but its in his hands!

They look really alike and its bothering me no one has mentioned it. The skull is pretty much exactly the same shape, similar eyes, similar smile, similar ears. If Rushworth got a straightener through those curls you'd struggle to tell the difference. They made him stand at a bit of an angle here to make them look different but i know the truth.
