I've seen the telegraph pushing that too. You would hope their spat would have seen us get news faster as they compete with eachother. However all that's happened is the articles are filled with sly digs at eachother

Hoffman has been undermined throughout the whole thread.

So, if you don't agree you would surely prove him wrong with facts etc? Just throwing out SISU defender doesn't do anything.

If it was new accounts or duplicate accounts you may have a point

You call italia out all the time (he goes home and away too doesn't he?) Can you prove it was a PR campaign that led to him posting what he said? Where are your facts?

What I don't get is why Hoffman is being given a free pass as our potential saviour. He was front & centre for the whole mess in the first place – along with Onye, Ranson et al – and has to take some major responsibility for running up the debts and our fall from grace, surely?

He isn't Reid is attacking him in print.
Such churlish behaviour from SISU and their PR man.
Why not Just negotiate in private and see if it goes anywhere.

Hopefully this will clear up what's a cracking exchange. Here's the league position we sat in after each result last season - Coventry City results for the 2015-2016 season - Statto.com

We were second in mid-December, sixth at the start of March and then the lowest point listed after a game is 13th after losing to Wigan. Thirteenth being a disastrous low point just over a year ago seems a world away now.

Looking/reminiscing wistfully, it was that quickfire double header of Walsall and Burton at home where the wheels fell off the season wasn't it? Felt like a real opportunity missed at the time.

I call him out for loving Wasps. I've never questioned him on CCFC. I called him out when he kept saying "get your phones ready" that it makes the bid sound / look like a PR stunt.

I'd say Rob S's post is world's away from leaking a rumour and telling people to get ready to be angry at SISU isn't it? It is the same as if Steve B from the trust who doesn't post much now was to come on and post something.

If Rob S posts "something is happening, get ready to be angry at the council" whilst leaking little bits out then I would totally agree.

Last season we spent 48 days in the top two, 155 days 3-6 and 72 days outside the top 6.

Our lowest league position was 13th which we spent 7 days in.

We were very much in contention for a promotion last season.

You're mental.

No-one is releasing rumours to "stir things up". What's the point? There's no massive conspiracy Nick, just an endless succession of arseholes and fuck ups.

Edit: I see the Sisu Defence Force are out today. Is there some kind of c**t signal for you guys, or a WhatsApp group, or?

If a deal could potentially fall apart just because it went public then it was probably pretty crap to begin with.

So it's not just italia being an arse again this time? It's a PR stunt? A poster who is known for regularly getting lots of flak on here, and who's opinion on anything is derided by many posters, is suddenly part of a PR initiative by Hoffman? Really?

Who 'in all honesty is getting worked up" it's something I'm sure we'd all love to happen, but
This is CCFC and we all know the drill, almost certainly won't happen 'but hope it will.
No this is just you 'doing what you do' supposing you know how everybody thinks and feels
Because they haven't the intelligence to form an opinion of their own.
Nick said:
Or they want to see if it's an actual serious bid.

Isnt that what proof of funds is all about, shouldn't matter to them who is behind the offer,
Just if the offer matches their expectations,
After all, why would they have concerns about who's behind an offer, is it because you think
They might be worried about our future wellbeing.

If going public is part of scuppering this deal, I think the logical conclusion is that Gary Hoffman was arranging a surprise birthday party for me and the present was that I was going to be named chairman.

Always happy to cause yet another ruckus...if only to relieve the burden from the regulars ;-) I have no idea why I don't post on here all the time really. It's a fantastic place for an intelligent, well-reasoned and polite exchange of views and information.

It's simple: when you are – quite rightly – blaming SISU for many of our current problems, you need to be aware of all of the people that operated under the SISU banner and how they contributed to the situation
  1. Ranson & Onye as the instigators, with SISU heralded as the saviours from our previous owners who had got us relegated and into financial troubles, losing our ground etc.
  2. The other directors such as Hoffman, Brody, Dulieu etc.
  3. More recently Seppala, Fisher, Labovitch, Deering etc.
Maybe someone can ask Hoff for more information on Ranson's conduct as Chairman, his contract and the investigations into those just prior to his resignation? It's not to damn them or praise anyone else by default, it's about making sure that 'anyone but SISU' doesn't end up with us in a deeper pile of shit than we are now. (And if you don't think that's possible, look into how Stockport County have fared since we played them in our first game post-Prem relegation.)

The reason we have so much debt is down to the failures following the Ranson/SISU takeover. Ranson whining about SISU turning the tap off is absolutely priceless. The reason SISU are hanging on is because they don't want to write it off / nobody wants to take any of that on. Why shouldn't the boards that operated under SISU's ownership take any responsibility?

Ultimately, as OSB has pointed out in his thread today, the way of taking over the club is complex and will take time and 'not be a repeat of past mistakes'.

There is no quick or easy solution to this. Any bid must (a) tempt SISU, (b) not burden the club future (c) not be do a deal at any cost (d) not be a repeat of past mistakes (e) only be in the best interests of the club......... going to be very hard to balance all that, especially if SISU playing hard ball and doesn't need to sell

(For the record, I never wanted SISU/Ranson here in the first place. I was one of a very few people at the time who refused to hand over our shares. They were carpetbaggers having hawked their way around the country trying to grab any failing club they could on the cheap and having a hedge/hybrid fund in tow raised all kinds of red flags. I've been anti-SISU for longer than 99% of Cov fans and it was only when the administration saga started, with the unnecessary refusal of the CVA & subsequent points deduction, that I realised that they weren't 100% to blame (still more to blame than others tho') and that any solution to CCFC's problems would have to involve all the warring parties coming to some kind of mutually agreed solution rather than each trying to tip the others over a financial cliff.

Losing the Ricoh was a massive blow to the club and completely shut off an easy departure route for SISU. As much as people might have hated them getting any access to ACL etc., it would have given us the possibility to see them off and the club / new owners would have an asset.

That's all in the past now and we're fucked really. With the club breaking even(ish) and Joy seemingly happy to just sit on the situation we're further away from an exit than ever...unless one of these hail Mary bids gets any traction and even then, we could be repeating the same mistake we made when it was 'anyone but BR/GR' and SISU were hailed as saviours.)

That is actually quite a well reasoned post.

Unfortunately it aligns with the scenario I was concerned might happen, SISU hang on for years and (maybe) take £.5M out of the club each year in L2. No ambition but to mitigate their losses.
