When did net spend become a stat?
For 23/24 and 24/25?That's completely inaccurate
Where are you getting them from? For 23/24 and 24/25?
Might wanna check your numbers big man
Stop talking about finances!Anyway ... as this thread is meant to be about Esse, not the finances of football, i'll shove my two penn'orth in and say i thought he looks really exciting with his touches and jinks. Was really unlucky to hit the post. Looked a little bit slow to get back in position, but one of the highlights was when he ran from the halfway line to execute the perfect sliding tackle on their winger near the edge of the box. Our defenders could learn a thing or two from that.
Its Bournemouth and BrightonWhere are you getting them from?
Transfermarkt has Bournemouth at €70m net for 24/25 and €128m net for 23/24. So close to £175m total, not 350.
wotIts Bournemouth and Brighton
Lovely Skills.
When you play against the low block, you need wingers who can take on defenders. Esse had 5/6 successful dribbles v Leicester which is incredible output in 67 minutes.Haven't read any of the recently pages on Esse but i'm all in for the above video. Sometimes it won't pay off but the quick 1 touch passes led to our first goal between Torp and Esse, and that opene dup the space through the lines quickly.
I'd rather that and risks be taken than have someone who has 99% pass completion rate but all they do is play it safe every time.
Flair wins matches and teams are setting up not to be broken down by us. Flair will prevail (woooo)

For context, Sakamoto has had 12 successful dribbles all season (i.e. took on a defender).

People who complain about play like this have no soul.I've seen some people in the fanbase complaining about some of this. Is football now such a vanilla sport people can't stand seeing a little bit of flair? I love it personally.
It wouldn’t count because it’s not a take on. EMC is on 29 and in the top 7% of dribblers in the league.Sakamoto turns a defender for a cross which doesn’t count tho. What is EMC at who is a better comparison in playing style?

If that is top 7% then 5 in 67 mins is wild from Esse. I think its that bit extra that helps towards a Prem team wanting to pick you up. Sakamoto has very good feet but he simply doesn't have the pace or power to really move past someone once the trick is done. Esse does what he does and then bursts away from his opponent. It will be extremely useful for us if he can keep it up.It wouldn’t count because it’s not a take on. EMC is on 29 and in the top 7% of dribblers in the league.
A small piece of goalpost away from a cracking goal on top of that too. Get his end product matching that dribbling ability and we’re in business. If that is top 7% then 5 in 67 mins is wild from Esse. Doug might have to get some of his ski gear on Ebay if we're going to afford Esse in the summer.A small piece of goalpost away from a cracking goal on top of that too. Get his end product matching that dribbling ability and we’re in business.
He’ll tell Frank to settle for Paragraph instead.Doug might have to get some of his ski gear on Ebay if we're going to afford Esse in the summer.
100% - it’s incredible output and if he keeps that up, will be a huge asset for the team. Sometimes tried a bit too much with flair touches and that annoyed people at times. If that is top 7% then 5 in 67 mins is wild from Esse. I feel like Sakamoto will really settle into his role as an impact player from the bench. You can imagine you’re LB and have to face Esse all game and then Saka comes on when you’re knackered for the last 25-30 mins (or vice versa). Great to be able to switch it up
Exactly!Esse's best touch was the volley inside for Rudoni that helped set up our first. They only show Rudi with the ball in the highlights, but you can see from the iFollow full match replay what a lovely touch it was -

Last 2 seasons Bournemouth have spent net £200m and £150m so your point makes little to no sense.
It was Brighton G Dawg. Typo from me.Where did you mention Brentford?
It was Brighton G Dawg. Typo from me.
In 24/25 their net spend was £230m and in 23/24 was £-80m so yes around £150m.Net spend is £150m for Brighton?

Cus Bournemouths was the £200m, and Brightons the £150m.So why say Bournemouth
Cus Bournemouths was the £200m, and Brightons the £150m.
That any better?
No I wasn't lolNot really. So when you said Bournemouth it was nonsense and then found another club to pretend you meant to include them to try and justify an obvious error,
No I wasn't lol
The original post should have said Bournemouth and Brighton, commenting that the two previous seasons have generated that net spend.
Go and do the maths, I've said it was a typo and should have said both teams.
You've had a mare.
Well because I didn't mention them, it was a typo. How is it a typo to miss out one team?
