Which striker did you want us to buy in the summer?
Dunno personally as I'm clueless. Based on current form however the OP has a point...and as he's not being paid a large sum of money for his experience and to work full time with the scouts, unlike MR, probably an unfair dig.Which striker did you want us to buy in the summer?
McNulty.Which striker did you want us to buy in the summer?
McNulty.
I’m not the bloke paid good money to set up a scouting system and recruit the right players, whereas Robins is.Which striker did you want us to buy in the summer?
He has 1 more window for me. No doubt he’ll sign Chaplin and continue to play him as a number 10 rather then up top.We can all shout from the rooftops about who we want in January etc. Has anyone stopped and thought about the hard sell it still is to get players to come who will improve us with the shambles going on off the field?
Regarding Robins, yes he has to be given more time and I think being realistic a mid table finish this season would be satisfactory.
I think the posters are expecting another promotion. We have moved up into a higher league with teams with a massive budget above ours. Plus experienced journey men.
13th yes the team are hit and miss but ffs we all hail a young team but we are a team in progres. Not all signings pay off we are unfortunately in the realms of limited signings.
Get real and lower your expectations and remember our budget compared to the hi flyers.
Luton are 2nd and the mighty Stanley will go back above us with piss poor crowds. The excuses have to stop at some point and it isn't unreasonable to say that Robins ballsed up when replacing McNulty. Based on the cumulative total spent we had about £1 million to play with which should be fetching top notch for this level.
Jayden Stockley Robins knew all about him having played against him 3 times last season.Which striker did you want us to buy in the summer?
Manager signed themI’m not the bloke paid good money to set up a scouting system and recruit the right players, whereas Robins is.
But this season alone he has wasted wages/fees on shite. Hiwula, Bayayoko, JCH and Chaplin all not good enough or is it the manager that’s the issue and his coaching team??
Have to agree here I love robins but tactically it’s painful to watch he’s had money and wasted it the players to me don’t look like they want to play for himIs it fair to ask your average supporter who they would buy, when they don't know the budget for purchase or wages or don't have the supposed scouting network or contacts within the game ?!
I think Robins should be feeling a bit of pressure now. This is the first time I've started to question him but having watched that shambles yesterday and particularly the lack of effort and determination from our players I think questions have to be asked. It seems he has wasted a lot of money { for league 1 } on a handful of strikers who look very poor to me. We have become over reliant on a 37 year old guy in midfield and a young lad who could vanish back to Derby in January and now our back four is nobbled by yet more injury issues.
We are out of all cups and are slipping rapidly down the league and I can't see where the goals are coming from. The style of play is just too defensive, why doesn't he leave at least one guy up front when the opposition have a corner or free kick in our half, we don't make it hard for them, their guys can always see our players in front of them and we haven't got the pace to play that way.
we have to change our style of play to get the best out of those players but i am afraid MR will not change. To me stikers need to be the box to score goals on a regular basis and that is not happening with our cautious approach we take!I’m not the bloke paid good money to set up a scouting system and recruit the right players, whereas Robins is.

If we’re gonna play Chaplin he needs a target man waste of time else he’s too weak and is left isolated so easy to defend against he’s not the quickestwe have to change our style of play to get the best out of those players but i am afraid MR will not change. Jesus Christ id love this job if I was a manager. Absolutely blamesless because people like you will still wangle it back to the off field drama. Dreamy. We can all shout from the rooftops about who we want in January etc. Has anyone stopped and thought about the hard sell it still is to get players to come who will improve us with the shambles going on off the field?

Missing the point mate I don’t think anyone minds getting beat and not making autos it’s the manner in what their doing it the players look like they didn’t give a shit yesterday who’s that down to ? Surely the manager is who gets the best out his players. The fans who have sudenly come out the wood work calling for robbins head are the same fans who think we are still a premiership club and should be getting automatics this season.
Yes he has signed poor strikers but what this club needs is stability for once. Give him backing and the time and Im sure he will come good or shall we do what weve done for the past 20 years and have a revolving door of managers, fans who expect to much and think we should be champions league
Is he feeling the pressure, without a doubt I’m sure he is.
Stats say we’re 8 games without a win in all competitions, 2pts from 18 in the last 6 league games it’s not great reading but we were hardly the model of consistency in the 5 games unbeaten run which raised expectations beyond reality.
The side in L2 wasn’t the complete package yet we got promoted by hitting better form in the second half of the season. We were still a few players short in reality, now in L1 he’s been asked to make us competitive for the league but also needed to recycle the squad and the puzzle still isn’t complete.
This summer he’s probably gone for quantity over quality and took some risks with some longer term visions and banking on a system in 4231 and players for that system coming good. It didn’t work so he’s changed it, and now tweaked it again but the players are struggling with it given the lack of key attributes added with confidence with their own ability now as the weeks go by.
We’re not far off a side, two wingers and a target man and we’re back in the game being competitive.
Reality is he’s only had three windows with two main summer ones to work in and from where we was to where we are is better still but it needs more time, patience and luck is what’s required short term and longer term vision.
People will look and see Luton, Accrington going well but they were settled sides prior to last season.

JCH and Brown are the only regulars. He wants one more window which is fair enough but from the last window, how many are regulars ? not counting the loanees Junior Brown and that took a while and thats it, we are a third division side we can’t afford that.
I don’t want Robins to leave, I want him to get it right but at the minute that is not happening.Really good post - to be fair to MR, he's been saying that it will take a few windows to get the team to where he wants it. Will fans have the patience, though? In my opinion, the previous season alone gives him time in my eyes. Others may be less forgiving, but I am that sort of person!!
If I was a 20 something half decent striker knocking around div1 or 2 and cov came asking for me I am sure I would be actively seeking employment elsewhere. If I knew nothing about ccfc but spent 10 minutes on the net it would be quite clear that the other 23 div 1 teams might be a better prospect. It will be very hard for us to tempt any decent players in January given the current state of play at this club.
So why would we have been able to sign players in the last couple of years?
