I understand that this will be released quite soon, so it'll be interesting to see who MR wants to retain. I presume the club will invoke the 1 year extension to Westbrooke's contract, but at the same time try and tie him down to a longer deal. Some other players might have new deals offered to extend their stay?

Will be released in next 24 hours.

Only a few leaving. Suspect one is Hiwula.

Westbrooke is a given we will take the one year option in our favour.

Wouldn't be surprised if Baka is given another year. Might be beneficial just to have low cost players on the books in this climate.

Can’t see any reason to keep Ponticelli or Wakefield or Allesani or Hiwula

Ponticelli is under contract I think. Agree on Hiwula and Allesani. I think it is quite telling that Wakefield (normally quite active on Social Media) hasn’t posted any celebrations or congrats and points to him being gone too.

Westbrooke will have his contract extended. A nice tidy footballer with the potential to improve.

Baka I feel will get another year. The club played money for him so may want to give him more time. On his day he can be a handful and like someone else has said, a low cost option to have in the squad.

Hiwula I feel his time is over. Needs to get his confidence back. There’s a goal scorer there I’m sure of it but didn’t take his chances and can hide in games after he’s missed opportunities. Scored some good goals for us though.

Not sure who else has their contract up but Wakefield will be gone. Obviously has a few injury issues that has hindered his progress. Shame as I know AV rated him from when he worked with him at Chelsea.

Real feel for Pontichelli. It just hasn't worked out for him at all. I still think there's a player in there though it was quite evident from the start that he wouldn't hit the dizzy heights some people were predicting. .
Hopefully he'll drop a league or two and start banging a few goals in.

A free transfer with a big sell on clause might be the best option and a buy back clause so we hold all the cards

He's not had much luck. First loan out broke his foot a game in and out for season. Tranmere he went and they then signed about four other strikers and he didn't get a look in, then went on another loan and almost immediately season got ended for Coronavirus. Must feel cursed.

Would still prefer him as the young emergency squad option at the moment to the likes of Bremang and Bapaga, who needs more time in U23's IMO. Think we'll keep him for the time being unless someone makes an offer for him but it's vital for him to actually get games. Ideally in competitive league football but if not getting time in the U23's to score some goals and force the manager to take notice of him.

I think the Championship is now going to be a stretch too far for him but to actually pay up his contract makes no sense to me.

I think players leaving:
Allassani
Bosma
Brown
Hickman
Hiwula
Maycock
Thompson
Wakefield
Walters

Young could be given another year, might not. Will dangle my legs over the 'release' side of the fence.

Baka again I'd say following promotion could now be on the release rather than retain side. Likely to be a relatively higher earner on that list, Biamou is still in contract as a CF back-up (unless L1/2 team put in a small bid for him where he might be tempted with more games) and if we sign another striker he's going to be third choice at best.

Westbrooke will have his extension invoked and a new contract offered IMO.

I'm not listening to any more of this waffle from people who think they are in the know. So am waiting on Andy Turner's exclusive retained list instead.

I'm sure I saw that Walters was nominated for a National League young player award. The lad has potential imo.

For those hooked on "settled squads" [which is the cliche number 2 after "we need wingers"] it is a jolly good job Robins didn't take that view - in the case of either cliche.

It is only "settled" when it's good, but even then returning loans, the Willis sort of situation, the fact that there are always weak spots (Mason?), age (McF) mean a team is never "settled". "knowing his best team" is cliche number 3 - if the players in the squad are properly competing for places, there should always be turnover. Players always eventually lose form, particularly at this level.

So on past form, Robins will be quite active in the summer both out and in. The problem maybe that the "outs" are quite cheap, but the "ins" will be expensive.

Hiwula, Brown, Allassani, Wakefield, Maycock, Walters, Bosma, ten bags Hickman all off.

Baka, Westbrooke and Young all have 1 year extensions

I think we all forget just how young Baka is, he might just be a bit of a late bloomer as he has shown some potential

I called Baka being retained. Think he'll be sent out on loan to a League One club that will have him as first choice and see what he can do for a season.
