I thought his reverse gear had broke after he scored. But he did still managed to get forward a couple of times afterwards. His attitude was shocking after he scored. Total lack of effort to defend.

Yep but he was clearly done. Robins should have instantly got him off. Up to that point though he was outstanding.

People moaning about the low ratings.

We've just drawn against a team who are well in the relegation mix.

Even if we had won today, the ratings would have been rightfully quite low.

Most of the ratings so far are utter shite. We played well and can't finish chances. Fix that, we'll climb the table, don't, we'll probably finish lower mid-table. Relegation talk is a f*cking joke.

Hiwula was a bit of a passenger, otherwise the team did a decent job. We looked threatening and had variation to our play. Some folks just hate their lives and want a scapegoat.

If that is your definition of excellent then you must not have very high expectations of these players. The guy takes about 15 seconds to make a decision that should take him 1. Every time he has it in attacking areas he’s takes 50 touches of the football and allows the opposition defence to settle and mark up the outlets. His positioning is all over the place as well, no wonder Hiwula was so isolated when Bright spent the first half chasing after the ball. He’s clearly a good player but if he actually applied himself we’d have won that game today comfortable with how much he was getting the ball in good areas.

And for the last time, tapping the ball around nicely does not automatically mean good football. We had 21 shots today but you could count on one hand how many of them even went close to going in. We pass it around with zero purpose and the opposition never seem particularly unsettled by it. It’s not like we’re ripping teams to shreds with these brilliant passing moves like posters on here make out. It’s tap, tap, tap, tap, tap around the edge of the box, lay it off to Thomas or Bright either fire a shot into a man or high and wide. It might look nice but it’s not effective and it’s not winning us games.

The way he lay on the floor face down whilst gillingham attacked was like something under 8s would do.
He was very good up until he scored. Then he should have come off not long after.

So running with purpose once in a game is enough now, is it? Fair play if you want to settle for that level of mediocrity.

Once in a game? He beat players with ease throughout. Watch the sky sports highlights. It doesn't even show the Baka chance which I think Bright also created. You rated Shipley higher and accuse me of settling for mediocrity!

Burge - 6.5. Not his fault for the pen. Decent save in the first half

Sterling - 7.5. Thought he was excellent today and really kept his man on the left pretty quiet. Got forwards well too.

Hyam - 6th

Willis - 6.5. Would have been 7.5+ if not for the bad back header for the pen.I

McCallum - 5.5.Looked a little lost at times.

Thomas - 7. Thought he was busy and bright today.

Meyer - 6. Half decent, but c!early not quite match sharp at the moment.

Westbrooke -5.5. A bit hit and miss, but it was also worrying to notice just how slow he is when he hasn't got the ball. Totally outpaced when Gillingham had the ball on the break

Shipley - 5. Too much wayward passing undid his good work.

Enobakhare - 6.5. All our good stuff came through him, but he clearly tired in that second half and I was baffled as to why he didn't get subbed. He could hardly run at the end.

Hiwula - 4.5 . Hard to see what he brings to the game unfortunately. Rather absent.

Subs:

Bakayoko - 4.5. Be interesting what others say about him, because if those two misses had been Chaplin's the lad would have got totally crucified.

Bayliss - Not really in the game enough to mark.

Wakefield - Ditto.

Can we please stop with this half marks business, makes no sense at all!

Burge 6 Couple of shaky moments, one great save, classic Burge performance
Sterling 6 quiet by his standards but coped well with List
Hyam 6 along with Willis looked iffy at times i the 1st half
Willis 6 thought he struggled with Eaves at times earlier on. Bad miatake for the pen
McCallum 6 did ok but nothing more than that
Meyler 6 i think he will be good once fit. Looks canny and aggressive.
Westbrooke 6 looks a bit lightweight at times, id have preferred Bayliss
Shipley 5 too many errors. Not convinced by him at this level
Enobakhare 7 great run for the goal, terrible attitude not long after
Hiwula 5 passenger for much of the game. Frustrating
Thomas 6 worked hard but doesnt look anywhere near as dangerous currently

Bakayoko 5 won some headers and made great runs before missing two sitters. Infuriating

We've won 3 in 17. That's relegation form!
We have a -5 goal difference.
Only three teams in the division have scored less goals that us.
We've only been saved by our form earlier in the season.

Burge 7 – can’t be blamed for the goal and took some crosses well
Sterling 6 – given his ability, could have posed more of an attacking threat
Willis 5 – a decent game marred by the obvious error
Hyam 6 – less of a stand-out performance than we’ve sometimes seen from him
McCallum 6 – a good prospect, not sure he should be in the first team just yet
Meyler 7 – clearly not sharp but used the ball well and if he gets match-fit could be great for us
Westbrooke 5 – started brightly, mostly tidy with the ball but worrying lack of pace at times
Shipley 7 – covered acres of ground and looked far better than when played wide left
Enobakhare 7 – carries the ball with ease, huge credit for the goal, hopefully better awareness will come
Thomas 6 – hard work as usual but gone off the boil a bit and needs to start finding the net
Hiwula 5 – contributed little, but rarely had any support within 30 yards of him

Bakayoko 5 – has something about him, still hopeful he will come good but today’s misses were poor
Bayliss 6 – no impact really

Our best 3 players by a distance today were loanees. Sterling, Bright and Thomas. All three will be playing in championship next season.

We will be ok this season. Mid table at best due to these three. But next season doesn't paint a pretty picture.

Hmm very disappointing end but I thought two poor teams and if i take my sky blue specs off not sure we did enough to deserve to win overall.

Burge 6
Sterling 6.5
Hyam 6
Willis 5.5
McCallum 5,5
Thomas 5,5
Shipley 5.5
Meyler 6
Bright 6
Hiwula 5
Westbrook 5.5

Subs: Bayliss 6, Baka 5 oh baka should have been more!!!
Robins 5 - need to play two up top!!!

Bright man of the match till he hit a wall ( or decided the game was won already ) most positive play came through him and looked a class above. Then for some reason totally switched off and contributes to us conceding !
Frustrating isn’t the word , as they looked no threat at all really. That said, we should have been at least a couple goals up by then! Need to be more confident in attack, and less ponderous I defence

If it's when he didn't chase back he'd just been on the floor. Not sure if he'd taken a knock or something Assumed he'd been taken out late when he played the ball through (or at least slipped or something).

Felt today like there was too much youth in our side. Mccallum looked perfectly fine but showed inexperience. Westbrooke started well but second half nowhere to be seen. Shipley I'm afraid to say is just not good enough at the moment. What is masons issue as well, he's fit one game out the next. Very bizzare

Meyler looked decent albeit he was fucked after about 25 mins. Will be good for us.

Hiwula was atrocious. I counted 3 times he tried to control the ball and missed it completely, once when a yard for a tap in.

Bright ran the show until he scored which is weird I know but he should have come off. Twice we were through 3 on 2 and first time he tried to drag it back and fell over, the second time he was so tired he played an easy through ball to their defender and then lay there knackered for best part of 40 seconds. Robins should have had him off there and then.

Willis- never really got the buzz for him. May be athletic but he has some clangers in him and that is up there. That was horrendous.

We need a senior striker. Not an ageing striker, a senior striker. We've got kids up top who are scared to do anything

Doesn’t make today’s result any easier to take but probably worth mentioning since we (rightly) slate the refs performance most weeks, thought today’s did well and was the best officiating I’ve seen this season. Wasn’t a whole lot he needed to get right, but wasn’t the usual nonsense decisions
