We still keep half an eye out for Aberdeen's results as it's the wife's club before she saw the sky blue light, they've been shite for a long time now. The league as a whole does need a new winner, but it just desperately needs a fat TV deal at this point to raise standards quickly.
Whoever's running the game up there isn't doing their job too well.
It's a small country yes, but that doesn't have to be a barrier to success. Certainly on the international stage smaller countries than them have done much better

That was certainly the case when I was a ref there for a few seasons. It's a pity really, the Lisbon Lions team is still one of the best stories in football and they played beautiful stuff.
The old firm skewed the broadcast deal in their own favour because they think they're too big for the league.
1st in the EPL gets around 70% more than bottom, in the SPL its around 220% higher, that's 12 teams instead of 20 too.
That means the gap stays the same (albeit I hope Herts can overturn it) as the teams that do the best have way more money to spend. That makes the league less interesting which means their broadcast deals aren't as attractive.
It's a cycle of the old firm wanting more and more of an ever decreasing pot that is decreasing because the old firm have made it less competitive.
