Clearly hate crime only works one way today then. Im sure anyone on here with a family member or friend who is disabled will love the abuse Hill has used
Let's see if we can agree on a few things.
- Spastic is not an appropriate pejorative to use;
- A racist is a racist, regardless of what others say;
- People should not boo players taking the knee;
- Racism should be condemned without equivocation.
Anything there to disagree with?
I hope my disabled niece doesn't mind being called a spastic. Nice one......As did I with a single black mother 16, Hillfields, struggled to eat.. Did you get racist abuse as a child or told your mum wasn’t your mum or have a cousin killed because of the colour of his skin?

I’m 36 and the term p*** was used by a lot of people when I was growing up - I suspect a lot of people my age still use it. My first couple of serious girlfriends were Indian and the only negative remarks were from white people, which didn’t end well for a couple of them.I can’t relate to how you feel on a personal level, nor would I ever pretend I could, but my Mrs is half Indian, and therefore my daughter 1/4. She doesn’t look half and my daughter is white so I guess people don’t have that “I should be careful what I say in front of him” feel.
I’ve been left absolutely raging internally a handful of times when one bloke who occasionally comes with us who is a “friend of a friend”, and is definitely part of the old school “legion” mentality has used the term p*** casually in conversation. Each time it hits me personally despite not obviously being the person being abused, and then I get the guilt that I should have fucking said something. But at the same time, what’s me saying anything gonna do? Ruin the match day experience for loads of friends and family. Cause a huge divide which makes going to games difficult. End up in a scrap with a bloke nearly twice my age. He’s not gonna learn or listen. I don’t know what the “right” thing to do is, but whenever I’m in his presence it is constantly on my mind. People need to be fucking better.

I have a family member with cerebral palsy and to imply she is a lesser human being because of her disability is hurtful to say the least
