Probably not in fairness, more an occasional thing for most (I caught the bug).

The students union often sold tickets during 2011-2012 ish, from memory for a tenner; sensible price point which at the time was of course Championship football.

Sales/ deals with the uni seemed to die down after that.

Must be a potential market to tap into there.

If you've bought a 6 or 12 match package you have the choice of either selecting a particular seat before match day or if you prefer you could just hand in the voucher at the turnstile and find a vacant seat to sit in. That's where the problem of sitting in someone else's seat can occur.

I read that even exchanging vouchers the gate, you are supposed to get a nominated seat (just you have no say in where as they are pre printed).

Something went wrong with that system for the Wigan game though.

Every game I went to with a match pack last season I was given a ticket with a seat number.

Although I have a season ticketI went to buy a ticket for someone else before the Wigan game . Shocking customer service 1Till working and 2 others staff flaffing about behind the counter putting kids shirts on hangers. 15 /20 minutes in the queue with 4/5 people ahead of me

Absolutely clueless customer focus

The problem there is the two other staff who are flaffing about were probably justsports employees and can't sell tickets.

The whole process needs urgently looking at especially if results continue as they are. The new shop is in the perfect place, lots of passing trade all week it just isn't big enough, can't see why it seems half as deep as neighbouring shops. This is something c.e.o. Waggott must get his teeth into no good bellyaching about needing 11000 plus per home game and having a ticketing system as they have now.

That's right. I'm quite happy channelling people to on line purchase but some thought into how to make things more efficient has to be a good idea

Just don't see the difficulty in this day and age in setting up a couple of ticket booths

The whole ticket system does need looking at. Today for example, no tickets are available at all from Arena Park - which doesn't make a lot of sense, no reason why they couldn't sell them until 4pm say. You can bet people will be turning up there to buy tickets only to be told they have to drive to Lockhurst Lane to get a ticket. It may no be a major issue, but it should be quite simple fix - as should be the problem with the online system not working with tablets. This has been an issue for 2 years+. Should be fixed by now really.

That is why they are encouraging people to buy season tickets. Only problem is many fans would not commit to pay out £250 unless they are happy with the performance on the pitch and/or there is a flexible payment plan in place
It is very expensive for the club to set up a separate ticketing function or they would do it
My solution. Offer season tickets at the reduced level (pro rate for home games left ) for next two weeks. I bet they would sell another 1,500 season tickets

Got my pkt yesterday. It was made very clear to me that if I wanted to select a particular seat then I could so long as it was obviously still vacant and if it was done prior to match day. Alternatively I could just turn up with one of the vouchers and take pot-luck with a seat. Seems a crazy option to me and as you are very likely to be sitting in someone's ST seat. I'll pre select my seat to be sure of where I'm sitting.

I think the whole ticketing system is a joke and needs sorting asap. What other club in the football league has a shop and ticket office selling home and sason tickets but then you have to travel to an industrial building some where els in the city to by an away ticket.

also one person selling tickets prior to match day and then having to go to yet another premises on match day itself is rediculous.

perhaps waggot should speak to the wasps and negotiate a ticket office/shop at the ricoh and do the job right finally

By pot luck it means a random ticket handed to you when you go in with a seat number on.

They won't have printed tickets with Season Ticker holders seats on.

I had to move a couple of times last year but that was my own fault for not actually sitting in the seat on the ticket!

Let's be honest Nick this should be sorted now. What I would do is re-open behind the goal block by block for pay on the day walk-ups only

They need to the current ticketing system is a joke. You can't buy tickets in the official club shop I mean come on.

I can only assume it is being sorted behind the scenes. Every other club has their ticket office and shop and the ground. Like it should be.

Now I don't mind it at the Ricoh track as it possibly gets even more traffic but to not sell tickets for games is a joke.

Might not be the clubs decision?? They dont run the shop do they.....

Club want to get the online purchases maximised, something i do (haven't bought a ticket from the ticket office for about 5 seasons) Once the IOS issue has been resolved, it wouldnt surprise me if they have some one near the shop on match days with an ipad registering and sorting the tickets out online..... Im guessing if they had this in place from beginning of July we may have sold more season tickets as it would have took a few mins rather than an hr!

As it's not the club's shop (its JustSport), it won't be their decision. Bet the club aren't too happy about it- for all the reasons everyone has said

Why though? Why not just put them in the normal stand? If you pay on the gate then you get a ticket (Except for rare occasions if there is a mad rush) so you go in and sit where the ticket says? I don't see the issue.

I've always had ST's before so this is a new system for me. What you're saying makes sense but that wasn't the way it was explained to me yesterday. Just a reply to my questions and a receipt. Oh and my membership card should come through in about .......................4 weeks!!!!

You can make that offer of course but it's not the answer. How 'expensive' can it be to have a decent ticketing system in place ? There are many reasons people want to buy tickets for matches as they arise, some are just sceptics like me of course but others have work commitments, childcare situations, caring duties, distance to travel, travel plans, education, expenditure restrictions etc etc
The club need to make it as easy, cheap and painless as possible for fans to just rock up and get in !

Easy, cheap and painless to buy on the gate - just don't turn up with 5 minutes until kick-off.

You get the 6 or 12 tickets with your membership number where they detach from the rest.

You go to the game and hand them in on a cash turnstyle and they give you a random match ticket, you use that seat number. It is just the same as paying on the gate.

I dont think so its a retail outlet at the end of the day Just Sport will want to sell the products they are providing to the club.... IMO tickets on match day should be sold at the ticket office at the ricoh all day rather than from 5 onwards, but the landlords probably have there own ideas......

Indeed.

Although as for how expensive for a ticketing system? Where I work is somewhat smaller scale and we looked into it. The short and sweet answer as to how expensive it would be is indeed 'very'!

Indeed, that's what I would be doing if I didn't have a ticket but many of course are trying to get seats with ST holders etc and some just don't want to end up too high in the stands or too low or jammed in the corner.

I've no idea on cost but we had it all in place before they ripped it all out and chucked it into a couple of wagons bound for Bayton Rd !

The club may not be happy with the system but the problems seem to be of their own making. We went to the shop to get our tickets for Wigan (6 game package) a couple of weeks before the game and the process was painfully slow. Yes, there are staff standing around but only one ticket terminal which is ridiculous.

The woman serving, and the ones standing around, were telling everyone that they were unhappy as they no longer worked for CCFC, they had been transferred out as a cost-saving measure. They were completely pissed off with the situation.

There needs to be the ability for people to get tickets online whatever system you choose to use. It is not possible for match package tickets to be booked online. If the club wants fans to turn up they need to invest a few quid to make it happen.
